I am planning to go to the son matias hotel around october 27th this year for a week, can anyone advise on the weather at this time of year?
and entertainment in palma nova as i presume this is coming to the end of the season.
Are there any water sports available at this time of year.
The Son Matias has first class entertainment each night,well it did last year,cover groups etc.The weather can be great at that time of year but as every were you need luck but i have had a swim in the med every time we have been that week
Hello, although it is 8 years since I stayed at the Son Matias Beach (on honeymoon, best hotel we have ever had, A friend of mine has just returned from a cruise and stay holiday and said that everything I told him about it was true, including the after dinner ballroom dancing!
He is planning to book there next year, but without the cruise, despite the fact he proudly boasts never to book the same place twice.
I will be returning there with the Mrs when the children have grown up, Roll on 2019!

I live opposite and judging by the furniture etc that has been removed and disposed of, it looks like a lot of work has been done. Talking to people who are there at moment, I understand that the hotel which was already a very high standard is now even better. A mate of mine is an entertainer there, when I speak to him, I will find out exactly what has been done and post again with more info.

look forwardto hearing your report mallorca magic.we stayed at the matias last year and cant wait to go in july .we both love majorca especialy palma nova. maybe one day when i win the lottery i will be able to buy a villa near u mallorcamagic

I spoke with my mate yesterday and he says some rooms have been coverted to "suites" and generally a lot of furnture has been replaced and generally the hotel has been "spruced up" He says its looking even better than before.

Have not done a 'package holiday' for a number of years (prefer diy) but Portland have a pretty good deal to the Son Matias in Palma Nova for January 2nd - 9th. We have been there in January before although not so early in the month.
It would seem that the hotel is closing again for a few weeks on the 9th so we are restricted to these dates.
The cost is £488 for 2 of us flying from Gatwick - we could not do this any cheaper by booking the hotel and flights separately especially as it includes transfers - saves us having a car for the whole week.
Would this be a good time to go or will it still be busy with the 'Christmas and New Year revellers'?

Hi, anyone know if the price of this hotel comes down at all at any time in the year? would love to stay there but prices are around £1000 for two weeks summer months and still around £800 in october!

Yes we really like this hotel but it is very expensive in season, but we have stayed twice in January and got really good deals about £700 for both of us for 14 days in Jan 07.
The resort is very quiet then but we like that and there is decent entertainment in the hotel in winter.

4/5 years ago they had very good entertainment nightly , does anybody know if they still have it, Thankyou
