Of course I will beermat
thanks very much went to the hotel next door, salauris, had a look at this one and hopefully it will be good.have a great time
hey beermat, have just got back and posted a review. had a fab time, didn't want to come home. please feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks for the review
hi kt just read your review and it sounds great. can't wait!!!you say your room faced another hotel which one?
I think it was the Salauris Palace, it is the one on the main road anyway. The Belvedere was to the right. We got to watch some good acts from our balcony! It was pretty loud but as I say, everything was quiet from 11pmish. My little boy slept through it anyway, (and my husband on the first night) even with the balcony door open!
what was your room like?was it quite big?so did your room face the pool ?
No the room was on the other side. Number 3143 (why do I remember that?!). Room was pretty large, it had 2 doors, the main one with the bathroom to the right, and then another into the bedroom, there was one large wardrobe with enough space for everything, a place to put your suitcases, a table with tv and fridge underneath. There was 2 just a bit larger than single beds pushed together and a sofa bed, which my little boy had, it had seen better days I suppose, but he's only 2. Would maybe have been a bit of a squeeze with 2 in. hth
hi there's four of us going. me,hubby,my son who's 16 and daughter aged 11. so hope there's a room with room in it if you know what i mean.12 weeks and counting!!!
hi anyone know if they charge for the fridge and how much? thanks
No they don't charge extra for the fridge. It's more of a built-in mini-bar type fridge if I remember correctly. It's only small and we stocked up every day from the supermarket round the corner.
HB
thanks hb will be stocking up for my nightly balcony relaxation time according to accu.weather it's going to pee down quite a lot when we're there
I don't know how you like to relax on the balcony, but the aforementioned supermarket also sells very reasonably priced vodka (was 7.50 euro a litre) to go with the cans of coke that fit nicely in the fridge!
As for the weather, if it does rain in the evening they put the entertainment on inside. I'll be honest and say that the entertainment was the hotel's only downfall when we were there. The inside bar isn't really suited for it either so you might want to look elsewhere.
Have a great time and enjoy that balcony - I finished 2 books there whilst enjoying the odd nightcap or four!!

thanks hb when we've been before we found the red supermarket, one across from the delphin hotel and another on the opposite side from the fox and hounds, so is it any of those ones you used?and if it's not up to much(the entertainment) we used shennigans a lot 2 years ago. one road back from europa roundabout, near the tapas bar, along from buddy's and co.so.......a small refreshment of an evening on the balcony it'll be
I know the red supermarket but the one I went to is much closer. Go out of the main entrance and turn right down the slip road that leads to the car park. Turn right at the end (into Carrer del Terrer) and walk past the school. Cross over and first left (into Carrer de Burguera). There's a small row of bars and shops on the left where we got all our stuff for the fridge.
Can't comment on the bars as we stayed at the hotel in the evenings (when we weren't at PortAventura). The kids were a bit young and enjoyed clambering all over the piles of sunbeds with all the other kids while the parents got bored by the Abba tribute band and the Dutch karaoke! If the Abba band are still there, you must see them once to appreciate how bad they are. Neither girl could sing a note. So bad it was funny!

hi everybody just back and it was great!!!!! arrived at 11 pm and went straight up to the room,4th floor, room 4107 and we faced portaventura and the rubbish bins for the salauris palace(bottles got flung in at back of 11pm)sleeping arrangements weren't good. two singles and a double sofa bed that killed my hubbies back, so i bunked with my daughter for 11 days on it!! next day went to ask if we could have a pool view and had to wait a couple of days as the hotel was full(i don't think so) they keep emergency rooms, but we couldn't have one. 2 days later after seeing the rep, she had a word, and we got a room on the 5th floor(top) on the pool side, room 5116. still the same sleeping arrangements,as all the rooms are the same,i was told. it done the job and had a lovely view. the food was very good at brekkie but i had problems with my fussy son and had to feed him at the nearest cafe.but i couldn't falter the food.kids club was quite good and we didn't see any sign of the abba band, there was a soul singer,he was good, chinese acrobats, mexican show, magic show, but we went out most nights. saw a bit of the hannah montana show at the titanic bar. weather was hot, had a couple of thunder storms at night nothing to put us off. but we have said again "no more salou" as that was our 6th time.

When are you going back then!!
I said something similar after my 6th visit. My next visit will be my 20th!! I do go to other places inbetween visits but I'm always glad to get back to Salou although I do tend to go for shorter visits such as 4 or 5 days.
Glad you had a good holiday
honest that's the last time never tried 4 or 5 days abroad, doesn't it feel like your just there when you have to pack again?
