Well sha33 my family and myself stayed there last August/early September for a week (2 Adults plus one three year old) and it was fab"!! The staff were out of this world i.e. helpful, friendly and genuinely interested in the guests. Hotel was so pretty and clean we were gutted to leave. I know that there has been a change of manager recently (he emailed us to let us know!! :cheers ) but I am certain that if the Yel hotel is half as good as it was when we went you will be very satisfied. Outside of the Yel gardens the area is misleading as it looks so barren and scorched but it will definitely grow on you. Hope this is helpful.

Hi Marg - yes thats the one, sounds good eh? You stayed there?

Hi Sam - thanks for letting me know. Bit of a worry that its now changed owners as I now dont have any up to date reviews to go by.
I do hope it is as good as your experience was. What was the cost of the drinks etc, not that I will be having loads, but I will partake in the odd occasional one or two just to be social ;)

Also whats the cigerette allowance from there do you know?
I got cought out big style (unwittingly - ignorance!) coming back from the Dominican and I think Iwill now be a target at customs, which is fine but I just dont want to be over

cheers

Hi once more sha33,
At the yel you will receive a "credit card" for all drinks and food so I haven't a clue what drinks cost but they can't have been too expensive (had quite a few :cheers ). You can settle your bill on a daily basis (recommended!!!!!) or at the end of your holiday. My son took a shine to the ice creams there and I recall that they were quite expensive (although the bigger and better ones were cheaper for some reason). Anyway I am absolutely certain that you will get great value for money. Great if you like Lager because they sell Eff's (something like that) which is lovely. The food from the bar area was lovely and I can vaguely recall the prices on the menu being cheap. To cut a long story short, most of the people that we met there had been going back there for years and years and claimed that they would not go anywhere else in Turkey :sun2 . Don't worry about the manager changing hotels. It appeared that there were several "managers" each responsible for their own sections. If Diego (Catering Manager?) is still there your kids will break their hearts to leave. Anyway have a great time!!

Well, its now 2 week and 6 days or put it another way, 8 more shifts!!!

Cant wait, the clothes all ready, not packed, but ready!!
Kids are desperate to pack but Im not a great fan of ironing, especially when its not needed. They have some amazing colour already thanks to the out of school club, I am as white as milk but going to start my Elmiss tonight and keep fingers crossed it does its job.

I have e-mailed the hotel (I think) to request a pool view room but heard nowt back yet, I am sooooo excited can hardly contain myself!!! LOL

Hi I arrived back from Yel Hotel last Wednesday (23rd). After having been there last year and loved it so much we decided to return. Although the hotel is still as nice and lots of the staff are still there, Diego, Deniz, Mikey, Smiley, some things have changed! There are lots more Turkish and Polish visitors and although this is not a problem, the lack of English tourists means the lack of English kids. I can hear you laughing and saying ' this is good' but when you are travelling with children you hope there will be other English kids there for them to play with so us parents get a break. Last year Echo was there and he organised lots of kids games during the day, this year there was nothing, only the odd game of volleyball for the adults just after lunch. :(

To be honest as much as I love this place it doesn't tick all the boxes anymore as I really need somewhere that has more entertainment for kids.

oh dear,

Not a great time in the hotel then?

Luckily my two play well together but it would have been nice for them to "mate up". I am planning on going out of the complex on some nights to eat out and get some entertainment elswhere but what is the entertainment like in the complex now some of the staff are no longer there? I have agreed to meet up with another single parent in resort so hopefully wont be bored but i was looking forward to a few evenings where i could relax with a drink or two in the complex and chat to fellow guests, is this going to be possible?

Any tips or advice you can give I would very much appreciate.

Thanks in advance

hi sha33
we are going out on sat for 16 nights (2 families with 2 children girl 9 and boy 9).We were there last august ,there were a lot of turkish guests there then but they tend to go out on coaches during the day and return for the evening meal so the pool during the day was pretty quiet and the polish guest were very friendly.i am sure you wont go short of people to talk to .and the staff will keep you ALL entertained. There is a lot to do see around the area and one trip I am sure you will all enjoy is the jeep safari.
See you in a couple of weeks.

Hi Sha33a

I'm sorry if my post sounded as though I was putting a downer on the hotel - it wasn't meant like that, just that in my opinion the activities in the hotel for kids were non existant. They still had entertainment most evenings, i.e. belly dancer, folk dancers, fire show etc, but last year they had a childrens disco every evening and that doesn't happen now. Once the entertainment is over everyone seems to disappear - only a few stayed by the bar. Most evenings we went into Hisaronu or Olu Deniz to eat and came back around 11 and there was only around 6 people at the bar!

I still think the hotel is lovely and the staff are great, but think they need to organise more for the kids, after all if they are happy, us as parents have a more relaxing time.

Sure you will still have a lovely time, maybe there will be more Brits there in August!

Thanks for the replies, Im not as woried as i was last night :)
are there any places you would recommend then when we go out? Obviously the kids are only entertained at a meal for as long as it takes to eat it lol so something with a bit of entertainment and nice food together would fit the bill nicely.

Did you do any shopping at the markets and get any bargains?
Any tips are greatfully recieved by us all.

thanks
