You don't say how long you are going for? I went for a few days and stayed at Hotel Costabella which is on the outskirts opposite the main hospital, the room was £50 a night but its a 4 star with king size bed, satellite on a full size tv , air conditioning and drinks bar. not much going on outside (1 tapas bar + 1 supermarket) so it was a quite area 7 euro into town by taxi. Thanks guys. I've booked in at the Peninsula Hotel for the 2 nights we'll be there. At £74 for 2 guests, 2 nights I reckon that's as cheap as I'd get in mid-July. Expedia did the best rates from all the sites I tried (and there were many!).
I'll post a review when we get back.
