We have stayed at the Krabi Sands Resort on Khlong Muang a couple of times...small collection of 3star (plus) bungalows, clustered round a pool in a garden setting. Not far from Andaman Holiday Resort, Krabi Sheraton and Nakamanda.

Upside of this accomodation.
Nice standard of bungalow
Great Pool
Good Restaurant on beach with stunning views.
Local feel with small village and mosque.
Quieter Location
Surrounded by mangrove - good for birdwatching.
Short walk (300 yards) to other restaurants and bars.
Cashpoint by restaurant.

Downside
Quieter Location (thats a plus for us).
20 minutes to Ao Nong
The mangrove is disappearing gradually
The beach is not brilliant here, but easy access to the islands...about 15mins to Koh Hong for example.
The area is starting to get discovered, they've even got a new Irish Bar in the area - I fear it may go the way of Ao Nang.
New Sofitel being built quarter of a mile up road will change the character of area.

stayed at the Krabi Heritage back in april found it to be a nice reasonably cheap hotel with good facilities.

going back in five weeks but may stay some where else this time.
