Hi
We stayed in the Punta del Mar in September and enjoyed it so much we
booked to go back next year within a week of coming home.
Thats something we have never done before!!
Whilst in Santa Ponsa we did look at the other hotel around us for
next year and decided that the Punta del Mar was best suited for us.
We liked the Jardin del Mar and would stay there but we did not like
the Jardin del Playa and would never stay there, but thats just our
opinion. hope this helps you, feel free to ask any questions, I also have
some photos of the hotels I could send you if you like.

I think any of the hotels would be ok for you. All have great views of the coast. They are also all in a great position. I like the Jardin de Playa because it is a little quieter. The kids club didn't seem to be too busy but we were there in May. Maybe others could advise what its like at other times. my kids were 8 & 6 and loved it. There was a pool table/air hockey/kids section of the pool/sandy area to front of hotel for football/netball there was also a little bit of entertainment for them around 8.30 each night.

I would return to this hotel but would also try out the other two you mentioned. Punta is the same chain of hotels as the de Playa.

Thanks for your response Tony. Can I ask if you had children with you? Also, did you eat in the hotel? If so, what was the food & service like?

Just the Mrs and me went in Sept it was her 40th, we stayed half board in a twin room, we will be taking our daughter next year and staying in a self catering room. The food was good with plenty of choice and the staff are more then helpful in restaurant and around the hotel in other departments. There was plenty of families staying there with children of all ages, I know there was daytime entertainment, but I can`t comment on this as we did not need to use it having no children with us.
As for the nightime entertainment once again I can`t comment as we went to the square every night, we did not feel the need to go anywhere else because the square is so good for nightime entertainment.

Yes, the Square in Santa Ponsa is great for entertainment at night so we're not too worried about night time entertainment in the hotel. You say you stayed in a twin room but did you get a chance to view an apartment? Thanks for your comments.

We did not manage to get a look inside a self catering apartment, but we made enquiries about them and it seems that they are made up of two twin rooms like the one we stayed in. I`ll try and explain how the rooms are setup, each set of two twin rooms have a communial door so when you go through this communial door you are then faced with two more doors that lead into two seperate rooms each having two beds and a bathroom, but when it comes to the self catering rooms that communial door is your main door and the two rooms become one with beds and a bathroom and one thats your living room with pull out beds, cooking area
and another bathroom, so what you get is two bathrooms and two balconies, I hope you followed this description, its a bit confusing I know.

We stayed in Punta Del Mar at end of June this year prior to going to a cruise and had a great time. It was just me and my girlfriend (both in our 40's), but we only went to The Square 2 evenings. We couldn't face going back to the square after that as it was overun with unruly kids, and parents who didn't seem to care! Most evenings we went down the hill to Irish bar section, much better entertainment for adults than the 2nd rate tribute bands that seemed to be on in The Square. As for the hotel, I would certainly recommend it, and the views were fantastic.

Having stayed at the Jardin del Mar a couple of times, we now fancy a change and are looking at the Punta del Mar.

Can anyone let me know what facilites they have outside for children - we have a little boy of 6. We loved the facilites at the Jardin del Mar because no matter where we sunbathed we could keep an eye on him in the play area and on the football pitch - we are hoping the facilities at the Punta del Mar are similar.

Also is there access from the hotel to the beach and is it fenced off - my son is a bit of an adventurer and we would hate him to go wandering off.

Any info please let me know.

No chance of a football pitch at Punta Del Mar. Pool area great, 3 different pools on 3 levels. We had lots of activies during day including polo, scuba diving, and aerobics, etc. Not sure if Punta Del Mar is best suited for kids.

I am planning to book Punta Del Mar for me and my hubby for next July (kids are going elsewhere on that occasion!) because the reviews sounded good, and I know exactly where it is. However, I would really appreciate if anybody who has some photos could perhaps pm me before I do the booking? Just would like to see a bit more than you can see in the brochure/web pics if possible. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist. :)
