I know what you mean, we were generally the same, but even in the evenings it seemed unbusy.

must have been the haunts we frequented,i was aware of the increase of groups of teenagers(at night)many bars did still seem quiet, but the main bars of the resort were heaving,i have on good authority that icmeler is now even busier,i have been visiting this area for 8/9 years now an i found it the busiest i have seen in at least 5 years, having said that i usually visit may/june sept/oct as the weather is too darn hot for me july/aug.i havent visited icmeler mid july for some time so maybe it is busy to me in comparison with what im used to

I've just looked at the webcam's for Oludeniz beach,
and at Tonoz, and Buzz bar. Everywhere's DEAD!!!!
It's like a ghost town!!!
Where is everyone??? :que

We came back from Olu deniz on Monday (after a fortnight there) and I have to say I thought it would be busier. Obviously most peoiple were spending the days aroound the pool (as we were) because of the heat, but the evenings were pretty laid back too. Now it was a long way from dead but for the first two weeks in August I would have expected it to be buzzing (not that we were complaining). I've never been to Olu before so maybe it's not normally a very busy resort :que

Hi,

Returned 20/08.

Marmaris beach front seemed packed to us although we had never been before. All the boats seemd full when they departed from the harbour as well. We stayed in Armutalan and it was very busy with some restaurants finding it difficult to seat large familys or groups of people around peak dining times.

Rotterdam.

ive just read through this topic properly, and scrolling back a few posts i think i will have to put my two pence in(yawn)Marmaris is in fact a large working town, icmeler is just a resort, marmaris is busy and noisy compared with her neighbour but is more of an authentic turkish destination,i dont find it rough or chav like, and the difference between marmaris tourists and icmeler ones is non existent, the marina is quite upmarket and very european, and the town doesnt grind to a halt in winter like most of the small resorts, there is something for everyone here.Yes it can be brash in parts but i dont feel the snobbery it recieves is deserved.
