Hello, can anyone help...
I'm trying to find out roughly how far it is from Benalmedina to the Holiday Village in Fuengirola.
Thanks
Pobby
Walking, i'd guess about 20 mins, taxi or car couple of mins only.
I reckon from "windmills" roundabout in Benalmadena to HV would take a good hour. I recall doing it last year and there was little of interest once you pass the casino. I remember thatseagulls sat on every lamp-post on the way---beware.
The Holiday Village is roughly half way between Benalmadina & Fuengirola being closer to the latter. We walked to Fuengirola which was a good 30-40 minunte walk. We never walking to Benalmadina we reckoned it was to far.

Yes a good walk, we walked from Benalmadena palace to Fuengirola (Torreblanca) in May, it took us a good two hours, which in the sun was not good!. We had to get a taxi back.
Why walk ? The bus service and train service as well as taxis are very very cheap on the Costa Del Sol.Bus from Benal to Feungirola 1 euro 15 cents single, dont fancy walking it,might not be safe.Enjoy your holiday, remember duty free fags very cheap in Feungirola.
Cheers

Yes totally agree, there is nothing much to see anyway!, we were alos hounded by timeshare touts along the way.
Hi, we decided to walk from where we were staying in June (Benalmadena Palace, benalmadena). Bored of laying around the pool, I said to my other half "Come on, lets take a walk in to Fuengrola, it'll only take about half an hour". Well what an experience, we set off, without any water (Thinking there will be a shop along the way), which there wasn't. We did pass holiday villiage after about 35-40 mins, tried to get in there to buy a drink (But couldn't, as gates were electronically operated by your room card), carried on walking for well over an hour, only then we came accross a garage, where we were able to buy a drink, we carried on walking a bit more, till we got to fuengrola gardens, by this point we were absolutely knackered, so gave it up as a bad job, and caught bus home!!!!
Meant to say caught the bus back. (Not home- Now that would have been a long journey!!)
the hv to fuengerola is about 15 mins to the terminal...and is (this year) 1 euro 15...number 17 bus...
Bus has been renumbered 120.
it is the 120, stops by holiday village ,if you get the 110 it will only take you to the flat otel.and you will only pay 1 euro 15 cents each if you caught the bus in torro or benal any stop,as it runs to fuengarola
The same bus also runs directly into Fuengirola. You can get the 120 into Fuengirola and from Fuengirola bus station you can get around the majority of the Costa Del Sol with ease and without expense.
It's definately worth familiarising yourself with the bus/trainservice in the Costa Del Sol as it gives you a lot more options with things do on the holiday and more important, it will save you a fortune on wasted taxi fares.
i totally agree, after 11yrs of using taxi,s i now only use the busses, such a saving on money, and a chance to see places you wouldn,t see in car
We waited for a bus- get a time table from reception, and if it was packed we just got in a taxi.
Sometimes the buses were packed like sardines and other times they were almost empty.
It took us 20 to 30 minutes to walk to Torremuelle from the Holiday Village and that was far enough. Luckily we found a fantastic tapas bar/restaraunt so didn't go any further (but I can't remember the name (it was under the flyover/interchange)).
Might it have been the Lucena II? Apart from tapas, it does great seafood as well as a delicious baby leg of lamb! There's a view of it via this web link.
Thanks tonyadams that was the one, brings back great memories of the Zarzuela (fish stew) I had mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
