We were lucky enough to buy a holiday home in the Algarve when we retired. We do rent it out, but we go there ourselves, usually with friends or family, several times a year. We absolutely love it! 
I think it would be great to have somewhere that doesn't cost a fortune to get to and that you can make a snap decision to head out to
