My love for Goa started in Colva - so South Goa is always going to remain very special to me although I spend more time in North Goa these days when I am there. However, I always spend atleast a few days in Colva/Benaulim at the end of my holidays...
We split our holidays between North and South must have at least 1 week in Candolim
Have only ever stayed down South though and never been BCC area although we have been up to Panjim. We prefer less busy
We have only been to goa once and we stayed in the south , going back to the south in december, we did visit the north to do some handbag shopping
WE have had holidays in both north and south, our last holiday in the north was for a month, after 1 week we went to the south, Benaulim, in my opinion the south is miles better than the north. Danny
- hmmm, a difficult one. We stayed in Cavelossim and it was lovely. Plenty of places to eat and a gorgeous beach with not much hassle. We also enjoyed a 2 week stay at Candolim and really liked that too. Only place we really didn't like was Feb 2007 2 weeks in Calangute - noisy, over crowded, dirty, etc. I think I'm in the 50\50 camp so no help there!!!!!!Sorry!!!
it doesn't have to be either/or. You can of course like South as well as North. I was just interested to see how many enjoyed staying in the South or are possibly thinking about it. South Goa posts do tend to get swamped in amongst the north Goa ones.
Although I have fond memories of the north, we have had four holidays in the south and all in the same area. The beach is beautiful and is not crowded and there are plenty of shacks. There are more eating places to eat out than when we first stayed in the south (of course not as many as the north) so you could eat somewhere different each night if you want to.
It's a good job we don't all like the same things otherwise it would be a boring world - I've visited the C/C/B belt & I just could not imagine spending my holiday there - South Goa is my ideal holiday destination, enough shacks/restaurants, quiet beaches if you want them & less commercialised in the smaller villages - I'm really looking forward to getting back there on 1/12/08

I assume when you say 'tents' you are talking about the lovely ornate ones and not the 'pop-up' ones from Milletts!

Its the south for us. We have been going since 93 and do visit the north, but would never consider staying in the north and visiting the south. Its just a personal thing no one way is right and the other wrong. Its just we prefer the more laid back feel
We usually like to stay in the South but next year(Nov 2009) we are planning on
a 3 week stay in Baga as long as we are in Goa we are happy Pat
They are the rajastan tents absolutley great trip. There is no elctric just a genarator for a few hours at night. We are doing it again this year. There are only 6 tents on the beach so we had it to ourselves as there were 10 of us

I have just looked at the website. It looks wonderful there.
Hi all
I've been loads of times - my first was at Majorda which I loved, then Candolim, Cavolissom, Palolem and travelled around. Prefer south but somehow the north keeps pulling me back, got lots of friends that stay there, maybe that's why?
