Have a lovely time. I would take the amount you usually spend in Greece and you will probably find you will spend less. ATM's are all over the place so if you run out you can always fall back on that. Turkey used to be a lot less than Greece but now the prices are steadily rising. However With the euro being so expensive Turkey will probably be a much better bet anyway. I wouldn't bother with the noodles. Turkish bread is delicious and tomatoes, cucumbers etc are cheap along with a bit of cheese.
You can always go to pide houses for the odd cheap meal, they are very 'Turkish' and delicious. A drink, pide and salad for around 7 lira (about£3)

Are you talking about 20 lira each (Presume so), i have heard about the Pide houses and will certainly look into them, we have £1800.00 so i hope that is enough

A good moneysaver for you all will be a Boat trip which costs £10 per adult, Less for children if you do this make sure you get the All inclusive one which includes free local drinks and soft juices with a barbecued lunch with salad included, Also try booking all trips from the same company and ask for a discount the more trips you book with a company the cheaper they will provide it for you, All trips you get picked up from your hotel and once trip is finished your taken back to your hotel.

Anne I think that is plenty and you'll have a ball. I know it is a bit different for us as we have our own house there with good cooking facilities, go often and don't spend in quite the same way as many tourists do. However we have just come back from 2 weeks. As there were 5 including 3 grown up off spring, we decided this time not to eat out so often and we enjoyed barbies and things at home. However we hired a car for 2 weeks, put petrol in it and travelled around, topped up my phone, ate well and sometimes in retaurants and pide houses, had a boat trip and drinks out most evenings and didn't spend anywhere near that much, I think we spent around £1000 at the most, probably less. What I don't do any more is go shopping so apart from a kilo of Turkish delight there was no money spent on 'stuff'.

I'm hoping that we have enough, and believe that £1800 should be more than enough.

Hi

We're going family of 4 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 4 to Bodrum end of Sept all inclusive. Can anyone tell me roughly how much money we should take for 2 weeks??? We have never been to Turkey before so have no idea how much things cost over there :que . We will probably go out a couple of times for a meal and maybe go on a couple of excursions depending on what excursions are suitable for young children and go to a market but that's probably it.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks you

Last year we averaged £110-£115 a day for 2 adults and 2 children (11 & 14),

This covered the Visa's eating out every evening, drinking when we wanted to (And I can put it away), some lunches out others we purchased meat, cheese and bread for the appartment and a few breakfasts as we took cerial from home. We also went on a boat trip, jeep safari and spent the day at the water park.

I also purhases my wife a gold bracelet for £130 and bought my self 800 cigarettes.

Last year we were getting 2.49Lira to the £, at the moment it's about 2.30 and 8% drop so to be on the safe side I am taking £130 a day to cover any increase in cost and the exchange rate difference, a total increase of 13% which works out at £1820 for 14 days so you are definately in the right ball park with what you are taking.

WOW. we took £1000 and spent it all . We went all-In last time and still spent £1000 ( 2 adults 3 young kids),. We did have a good time though!.!
We did not want to spend loads of £££ ... But we did spend £££.

Whatever you can afford to spend .. then spend It!!!
If you dont have much £.. Then you will still have a good time.

We are going for 3 week next year and we will be going SC .
We still plan on £1000 for a 3week SC Holls.

It Can be done EASY.!!!!!

Good Luck.....
