Hello ALL,
I am going to Icmeler in Aug for 2 weeks and was wondering how much spending money would be about right. It is just for myself and a 3 year old! Just for food, a few trips, drinks etc... Not really wanting any clothing, jewellry just fun times!
Any ideas at a rough guess? It's just so I have a figure to work from as I have no idea.
Thank you all
Ruth
There are loads of places to eat just shop around some more costly than others.
Mmm, I was thinking I may need about £800 for the 2 weeks for the 2 of us. Hopefully that will be plenty, don't want to scrimp though as it's our 1st hol's but still don't want to over spend totally!!
hey!the thing to remember is kids meals are generally quite cheap id say and look out for special offers on at restaurants (my hubbys place last year had 5 courses for 13 lira-just over a fiver!) or even eat in normally place one night and nice place the next, me n hubby done this with my family when they came to visit us in marmaris last year so as to balance their money out!a lot of your money will prob be spent on drinks but as mentioned stock up in your apartment and when out n about if poss use supermarkets for buying drinks cos cheaper!as for trips, haggle!you can get boat trips for about a fiver n suchlike so doesnt need to be expensive!i think so long as your careful you'll be fine!last year for 5 of us eating out we werent much more than 100 lira that was with soft drinks though(about £40ish). look out for places the turks use too cos then you know the food must be ok lol if ok for locals ok for me lol and it will also be bit cheaper.........i used to go to a pizza place up side street from main drag and it was only 6 lira!just shop around, look out for offers and give places a try!once you find somewhere you like chances are you will go back a few times!im sure you and your wee one will have a fab time!were in turkey are you going anyway!?xxx
We spent approx £600 for lunches, evening meals ,drinks and a boat trip. This was for 2 weeks. We only drank Efes, the local beer so if you want a decent wine it will cost more.Imported drinks are expensive in Turkey.
October is usually a bit cheaper as its the end of season.
If you have a Nationwide flex card you get a better rate from the ATMs and there is no charge for using the card in Europe and Turkey.
I had read that the nationwide now charge a fee for cash withdrawals
Sorry I cant do links to their website
It may also be a good idea if you drink to stock up at duty free, we usually take a bottle or two.
I am not really a drinker but will have a few Efes I feel... My main thing is to have a great time with Carmen (my daughter). I just wanted to make sure I was aiming to save enough money. Don't want to go OTT but don't want to scrimp at same time.
I am sure we will be fine, quite looking forward to it now.

My better hald and I normally go to Tnsas to get stuff for our brekky, cornflakes, orange juice. eat out for lunch just a quick snack and eat out each evenign with a few local drinks each. We look to budget for around £60 per day. Normally do a trip or 2 as well so £800 should more than cover you I would think
Hi Ruth, Don't forget to budget for the air conditioning and fridge, both of which you have to pay for at the Golmar Beach. Sometimes people forget to do that and find a good bit of their spends gone on arrival, especially if you're paying for 2 weeks. I stayed here with my daughter 2 years ago, you and your little one should have a nice time.
