How much to take to Cancun

My husband and I going to Cancun, staying at Rui Caribe for 2 weeks AI. Just trying to figure out how much spending money to take with us. We went back in 2007, same hotel etc and took £600 with us and really struggled to spend it. However, I'm aware that the exchange rate was much better back then. We done the Coco Bongo's night out, Jungle Speed boat and also the Isle Majures trip.

The only trip we plan to do this time is the Jungle Speed Boat trip again. Most of the time we plan to spend in the hotel enjoying the sunshine and luxury but we do plan to go for a nice meal and also to Bubba Gumps and Chillies again and do a spot of souveneir shopping.

Is £1000 too much between 2 adults? I'm thinking we might struggle with only £500-600 though.

I know it's a silly question but, how much should we take? And am I right to take the majority of it in Mexican peso's and perhaps about $100 US?

We stayed at the Cancun in November, ate out 3 or 4 times at Hard Rock and Bubbas, Bought some bits in Wallmart and did a couple of trips and to be honest struggled to spend £500.

I did but a couple of shirts from the design places but paid for these on visa .

Of course it depends on what souveners you buy but would think £1000 excessive for an All Inc holiday.

Thanks Millie. I think we'll probably take £500 in Mexican peso's and perhaps £250 in Sterling just to be on the safe side. Or make sure we have money in the account.
