I guess many of you noticed HT has been offline and we were told it was not coming back
We have all been devastated by this news and especially regarding the HT meets (among other things of course including the brilliant information found here and links that have helped countless travellers )
I just want to say to everyone that if HT does go offline for good as was suggested recently, and we all lose touch the meets will be continuing at the Carvery next season and the remainder of this season so please please continue to come (if anyone wants my email just in case please pm me)
Also just in case I want to express my gratitude for a brilliant website that has made me personally so many wonderful freiends for life
Chilly
Thanks Chilly for making everybody welcome at the meets and being such a lovely friendly lass. . xx
I will be sorry to see H/T go but will see you all at the meet in March proudly wearing me H/T wristband
I know this is the first time I have been able to access the website for a few days.
There's a message from Van explaining what happened with the downtime and also the future of HT. The thread is called 'We're back'
Thanks Chilly
Ditto Chilly
Have a read through here:-
We both feel the same - we have met loads of wonderful people and the HT site has given us loads of information.
Hi, my name is Fay, I am lynndans daughter, Danny is now blind so I am writting for him, I have to read this forum and trip advisor every day, then sit back and listen to his comments, he was most upset at the thought of this site closing down, when my mom died he wrote on this site goodbye to Goa, he was amazed at the response, the affection in the replies, he talks about Fiona, ginlizzie and golden flip flop as though they were personal friends, and when he was arrested in Goa and assaulted in Goa the many many Emails he received from the contributors to this site ( over 400 ) helped him to go and get an apology from the Indian goverment, Danny goes back to Goa every year for a couple of months, although that now looks as though it is over, Please do your very best to keep this site open as there are people who really look forward to hearing news and views from all of you, my dad doesnt always agree with what is written but then again I dont think there are many people who would agree with my dad that all taxi drivers should be shot. I hope all the mods are allowed to keep up the good work. Fay p.p Lynndan
So so sorry to hear that Danny is now blind ;o( - and a big thank you to you for reading him the posts from the various forums.
Yes I remember reading Danny's posts and was so pleased when he DID eventually go back to Goa - and although sad with all that happened there
Please give him a big and
Hi Danny and Fay - we're here to stay so long may you both keep visiting and contributing
It's great that you are keeping your Dad up to date with all the news from the Goa forum and I do hope that he is able to make a return visit sometime in the future
All the very best to Danny from me and a big too
Fizzy
What a star for what you do for you dad
Danny I am really sorry to hear your news. I remember when you posted here that you were going to make the trip to Goa on your own for the first time. I think we all probably felt that we knew you. And the fact you got about 400 emails about that horrific time you had, shows the support from members. That is an amazing amount. Now- all you have to do is persuade Fay that she would like Goa
In the meantime we have been saved so the forum will be around for a long time to come!
Take care x
Please give my best to your dad.
Please tell him I said hello and tell him to take care x
Families that post together do the most together
Looking forward to seeing you both busy on the boards....tweetie
ps one each you both deserve them
Thank you for your concerns, I can see what my dad means about friends on line, Danny has to go into Wolverhampton eye hospital on the 6th of June, those of you who pray, please say one for my dad, those of you who dont pray cross your fingers. Fay
Of course we'll all be keeping everything crossed and routing for your dad! Do they think they may be able to do something to help his sight? (I'm hoping 'yes' here!! xxx)
Hi Betty, my dad lost his sight very quickly, he sat down to watch the football and within seconds his sight was gone, ( frightening or wot ) because of how quickly he lost his sight they are hoping they may be able to regain some sight in one of his eyes, but thats only a maybe, Danny believes in miracles so why shouldnt I, I will let you know how things go. Fay.
