Well I haven't even been on holiday yet (17 days to go) but I know for a fact when I get back I will be depressed as I know we are definitely not having a holiday next year, husband wants to get the house done and moneys tight, so when I come back from this one I will be craving for my next holiday, my next one won't be til 2010 , as we will have to save for longer to help pay for it and our spends

I came back last sunday to rain in manhcester depressed is not in it, back to expensive blighty sod the credit crunch, and this live to work attitude, I have my hol once a year and look forward to it, its the only thing that keeps me going...miss fuengirola soooooo much!! it was soooooo hot...
it will not be to bad this year (i go in sept) as i'm taking the mother in law, so i will be glad to get back and get shut of her after having a full fortnight of it!! 
I look forward to the end of most of my hols as, again, this year i spend half of it on trains around the UK visiting people before i return back to the Canaries.

yea she has donated £900 to the cause, my first holiday ever abroad took me about 3 months to get it out of my head (only because i fell in love to a maltess local)
Arrived at east midlands yesterday morning to fog and rain, after 9 days of glorious sunshine in Mallorca. Went back to work today thinking I was entitled to an easy first day back - but no! so I'm definitely fed up. Lets hope the weather picks up here soon, otherwise its going to be a very long autumn and winter! Off to get the camera out now, to reminisce and then I'll start ringing my friends to "re-live" my hols to them - they may be bored, but I'll feel better !!!!! Louise

We got back from Portugal late night Friday/early hours Saturday morning and I am soooo fed up already!
And you are right, this rotten weather doesn't help.
I just cannot get back into the swing of things this time.

Well I didn't get a chance to go We should have been starting our second week in Crete today but I was taken into hospital just before we were due to go. Now I'm backwards and forwards between the doctors and the hospital for injections and blood tests. This awful uk weather isn't helping either In 2003 we were booked for 2 weeks in Crete and I was rushed into hospital for an emergency operation. I think someone is trying to tell me not to go to Crete. So disappointed!!

Sorry to hear of your health problems. However remember to declare them to your insurance if you plan another trip away.

I see what you all mean about coming back from your holidays as you have had such a good time it seems depressing to come back to the humdrum of normality.
got back from mexico on sunday morning and im fed up already ive just done all the washing and ironing and put it away dont feel like i have been away will be like this for days never mind only 9 months 2 weeks and 2 days till the next one

Even my kid's were down about coming home this year especially as it starts to rain the minute you get off the plane and drop in temperature comes as a shock. I think if we came home to sunshine it wouldn't make us so down. We came back off hols in August and trying to get my washing done was a nightmare as it just constantly persisted down. Have to agree the only solution to cure this depression is to book another one for next year, it takes the edge off having that to look forward to

got back today, and for the first time i'm happy to be back
Got back yesterday from 4 days in Cornwall. It was glorious weather, walking around in vest tops e.t.c. It was only a short break, as we went to Turkey in May. I've got until next Tuesday off work, but hubby went back straight yesterday. I feel lost today, been on my own all day, hubby not home until really late either, so I've definately come home to misery
With my dad getting made redundant earlier this year and taking a massive salary cut, plus the effects of credit crunch, we are having to cut back on our holidays big time. We will be lucky to get 1 holiday a year, so when we actually do get a holiday it will make us so much more apprciative of it.
And yes - Coming Home is a bummer! You spend months getting excited about it and then its over so quickly.

to be honest if it was not for our yearly holiday to look forward to, my life would be dull, i know it sounds sad but the two weeks away every year is the only thing thats worth looking forward to, and i bet i'm not on my own here
