Madasafishy,
the Highland Beach offer rooms that sleep 2 adults and 2 children according to the First choice website.
I have no idea what the kids beds woulds be like.
Most hotels only seem to offer 2 adults +1 child in a room.

hope this helps

Highland Beach has some apartments which have two bedrooms, two toilets, a lounge and kitchen. All beds are full size singles. These would be perfect for a family.

Hi Goa is fantastic for children, they will love it, i took my 2 children in March and they loved it, it's like nowhere your've ever been before, so interesting and different, the only problem i had was getting them to take the Maleria pills, i disgised them in ice cream, calpol, crushed them to no avail, i then bought the syrup which my 8 year old took but the youngest just would not take no matter what we done, he was sick every time i tried so he went without taking any medicines, so when we got there we bought some from the Pharmacy for children and he took that one :? Hope your children don't mind taking medicines, but if they do disguise them before you give them it

thank you everyone. do you need other vaccinations? i had some to go to Africa when i was 12 and they made me very ill (as well as my arm swelling to twice its size!) i can still taste that polio drop now :yuck

my kids are okish with medications, bribes of toys normally work :D

That may have been the old live typhoid injections, they used to make me really ill. Fortunately the virus is dead in the injections used now, and apart from a small amount of swelling and minor discomfort for a few hours, I have no problems.

In answer to your question about injections we booked last minute so we had no time for any but you should see your GP for up to date information, i was carefull about only drinking bottled water and smovering them in mozzie spray, they were my only concerns really.

Personally i have to disagree and say I dont think Goa is a place for kids........reasons ..... depends on age .Chances of Malaria or other contagious diseases. nowhere really caters for kids .they will get bored ( can only stay in pool so many hours)........ weather can be too hot. ....food not to young uns liking .........traffic dangerous...... North Goa sea very dangerous...... too many people....... cows stampedeing (well it could happen hahaha) last but not least NOOO KIDS........i come here to get away from them so pleaseeeeeeeee keep the rugrats at home If you want kids on holidays go to Spain. Sorry im being selfish ..........just my own personal view
ps wife doesnt share my view guess im just getting old and grumpy

How wrong you are Paul.

We took our 12 yr old daughter to Goa for the 1st time this year in April. Every year she and the missus go with the mother in law for a week normally to Spain or the Canaries - this year it was Tenerife in June. This was an all inclusive holiday with kiddies clubs and the normal lazing around the pool, swimming, doing games, going on a few trips, etc. Our daughter naturally made friends as they do. (Not a holiday for me by the way - I'd rather stab my eyes with red hot pins).

So when I got chatting to her when she got back I naturally asked her how the holiday went. She said she had a great time and really enjoyed it. 'Better than Goa' I asked. 'No way' she replied. So when I quizzed her why Goa was better, she said the people, the food, the beaches, the things to do in and around Goa were all better and she would love to go to Goa again. Not bad for a 12 year old.

So anyone with kids (any age) get 'em out there. The injections and malaria tablets are a must in my opinion - you would never forgive yourself if anything happened. Oh! and Paul - all the things you said that can happen in Goa can also happen here - and also we could be dead tomorrow - live and let live and get out there and do it!!

Yeh you are a grumpy old bugger
:D

Hear Hear McGroogle! My 15 year old lad and 5 yr old gorl absolutely loved it, the eldest started a chess championship on the beach with old people, young goan lads, and waiters, he even spent some of his spending money and put a chess board up as a prize, my youngest made friends with a little 3 yr old goan girl in the restaurant that we went to regularly and we took the little girl to the beach most days. The little girl and mine communicated even though they couldn't speak the same language, and my little obne taught her friend to say things in english like "my friend, I love you". It's such an enriching experience taking your kids to Goa as they are welcomed with open arms. It's the bad parents who allow their kids to run riot and cause trouble that I'd like to keep away.

Sorry for the rant but it really annoys me that people say kids should not experience something just because they are kids! and that people with no kids / grown up kids just lump them all in the same catergory.

Rant over!

I agree with you atltogoa2006, it's the bad parents who allow them to run riot they are the ones that irritate me. I don't have kids myself and certainly don't have any problems with them whilst in Goa. I'm 34 and a big kid at heart. :)

I totally agree...............bring the kids to Goa, you'll be giving them an experience of a lifetime and they'll learn more in Goa than they would in Disneyland!!!

Donna I agree with you it is down to the parents. Unfortunately unruly children can spoil a holiday. We always took our girls away in school holidays and made sure they were well behaved. Now its just the two of us we make sure we go when the children should be at school, again unfortunately, this doesnt happen and our visit to Turkey last year was spoiled by unruly chldren, but I have to add this has never happened to us in Goa. I personally wouldnt take very young children to Goa but that is just my choice

and back to madasafishy's question the Royal Palms in Benaulim have 1 bedroomed apartments , all four of us stayed in 1 apartment and they provided beds in the living room for the kids. Not ideal but we only used it as a base.

I'm sure the Goan people don't feel this way, we could not walk past without someone wanting to shake their hands or just stop to speak to them, my children are 8 and 6 and loved every minute of Goa, it's a shame some people choose not to be around children, behaved or not they have just as much right to be there the same as you and i

PS we are off to BENIDORM soon for a month and i am trying my hardest to get them excited with water parks, Terra Mitika, etc, but my eldest said he would rather go back to Goa for 1 week than Spain for 4 weeks.......enough said.
