Ok made our minds up we would like to try for Egypt at the end of August. Was going to consider Carribean but after the hurricanes last year no way, so after reading several posts on here and reading several hotel reviews i am more confused as ever....
What we need is a beach resort, preferably all inclusive, something to do in the evening, good pool and near civilisation. There are only two of us and preferably somewhere that isn't too overcrowded with children as we need a relaxing break more than anything. Wouldn't have minded Taba but i feel that even if we don't use bars and such like i would like the chance to go out at night and have a drink which would be nice. And i know most hotels have jetties but is there anywhere that had a proper beach or is it all jetties? Looking to spend up to £550 each so a really nice hotel would be good, any thoughts?
And i've had a word with my GP surgery and they haven't refused to give me injections at this late stage, apparently i have to go down and fill in a form and they look into your notes and then make an appointment, it has changed a lot in three years!!
Thank you
I canr eally highly recommend the Kiroseiz Beach resort, it is AI and you can use Kirosiez and St Georges hotel facilites including food. Food at the beach not amazing but we uised to have our main evening meal att he hotel and the selection was out of this world.. All rooms have a sea view, a free shuttle bus between hotels and about 15 mins from Naama Bay, you have fantasia shopiing across the main road from the resort and old sharm is about 10 min away (20 - 30LE in a taxi). We loved it here soo much we are going back for christmas for two weeks!! Great staff, treat you like royalty and cannot do enough, very clean, clean bedding and towels everday, gorgeous beach and the snorkelling is fantastic. We paid on a late deal £329 each, but is have seen cheaper if you can go at the drop of a hat. I have a thread on this resort on HT, if you require anything else, let me know.
why dont you try the coral sea resort in shamm el sheikh its a top class hotel it has the beach what you want and it has a jetty to get right out to sea, they have two pools one where most of the kids go because it slops in and then theres the quiet pool for all your relaxing needs both pools have there own bars aswell, your only 25mins from namma bay and the hotel do a bus every half hour or hour or you can take a taxis then its about 5 mins the way they drive ha ha ha,we went over for the new year got back and booked stright back up and we never go back to the same place twice you will love it here hope this helps you
We went to the Concorde in Sharm last month. Lots of tour operators don't take bookings from families with kids so you should get the peace and quiet you deserve! See my review if you want more info on the hotel.
Have a look at the beach at The Conrad Hotel it's beautiful!
I've already booked to return there 30th July next year.

There weren't a huge number of small kids when we were there but I don't know if there would be at other times.
It's an A/I hotel with a shuttle bus into Naama Bay (and the nightlife) in the evening.
I thought the entertainment was pretty boring, but I've never been a lover of hotel entertainment anyway

Is there any sites that offer last minute cheap deals to these places, any sites that people have used or recommended......
Thankyou for all your replies and future replies!
And hello Poppy we must stop meeting like this!
THis year we discovered El GOuna... absolutely brilliant. It is called the fake Egypt but to be honest the only thing we found fake was the 'no hassle' in the shops, no negotiating taxi prices [all £1.50 to anywhere in El GOuna]. It is a smallish resort built in 1997 with lagoons surround the whole area. It is really unique, and the restaurants were absolutely fantastic. More waiters when we went then customers, everything freshly cooked and piping hot and NONE of us suffered phaero's revenge for a change. There was loads to do in the resort, different party nights including the Mangroovy beach party twice a week. It was my oldest daughters first trip to Egypt with us, and she reckons its been her best holiday yet.
We stayed in the Arena Inn [have posted a report on the hotel seperately] which was a brilliant base, cheap and had a pool where you didnt have to get up at 7 to put your towel down - a refreshing change.
The nearest beach was Zeytona, a lovelyair conditioned bus took you there every hour, which was about 5 mins away. It was reached by a bridge, this is an 'island' beach which has lovely rattan like breakers which gave you more privacy... not rows of beds on a beach. You could get towels and beds free with the Arena. It was idylic and had a beach bar which was reasonably priced - chicken mexican wraps with salad and chips for £2 for example.
We have now found our perfect holiday destination, shall definately return there next year.
Hope this helps.

there is also another agency called something like "wintersunshine" but i cant seem to find it at the moment. im sure someone else could help me there . we are going to try DIY for the first time next easter. so i have booked flights with Excel at a good price now i need to sort out the hotel. and will get a taxi from the airport at sharm which is easy as most of the hotel in sharm are only a 10 min or so taxi away
lyn
I will always defend this place and highly recommend, looking at the other beach hotels in Sharm and speaking to guests, i thought we had the best deal overall.
is the beach resort where the bungalows are. it says that these are 15 mins away from the hotel does that mean you have to make ytour way there for food pools etc is it far to naam bay also is there any night life at the beach resort
Yes, the bungalows are actually on the beach resort, there is a restaurant overlooking the sea where you can eat all meals, or you can eat at the hotel, up to you. It is around 15 mins to Kirosiez hotel and a free shuttle bus with air con every half hour. It also drops you to Naama Bay which is again 10 mins approx. St Georges hotel is just around the corner and you can also use the facilites there if you want, we hardly ever went to the hotels as enjoyed the peace soo much/
No nightlife as such at the reosrt, but plenty when you walk outside fantasia etc.
