I think it is soy gales (welsh)
Yes, allmen's correct. It doesn't matter how much you tell them that you're from Wales though - they'll still insist that you're from England. We've just returned from Mexico and wherever we went they asked us where we were from and eventhough we said Wales and could be heard to be speaking Welsh their answering comment was always "ah, England".
We almost resorted to taking a map of the U.K with us to explain but chose to ignore it in the end.

Please don't take this personally anyone from Wales, but after you see tonights X Factor you might not readily admit it
Strange. I am English but when asked always say I am British!
Hi De HI, I wouldn't mind so much if they said that we are British (course we are!) but it seems that most "foreigners" seem to think that the U.K is only made up of England.
Even in our well known Riu complex the ents team always reffered to Britain as being England. I genuinely think that they think the U. K is called England.
Another example:- we met a couple of gents from different areas of the states and got chatting about their various home towns and of course they wanted to know about ours. Again when we tried to explain where Wales was they assumed it was part of England
Their thinking was that The Queen was also our queen, so how come we weren't called England
So by their workings out all the commonwealth states should be called England. Sorry I've gone

Bit like the way most of us tend to regard Barcelona as being Spanish I suppose, much to the chagrin of Catalonians. Knowing and understanding the constitutional arrangements for other countries must be something of a minefield.

But only those for whom the Queen is Head of State eg Canada but not those who have a President as head of state eg India (I think :-) and as Australia increasingly wants to.
Seriously, I'm sure that most of us can equally easily put our foot in it and I'm not sure that all of us really understand our own constitutional arrangements properly anyway. For example, many people use the United Kingdom and Great Britain as if they are synonymous terms but they're not - the former includes Northern Ireland but Great Britain is a geographical term and refers only to England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland, as is Eire, is part of 'Little' Britain ie the smaller of the two islands which make up the the British Isles but I doubt that people in Eire would thank you for calling them British!
Incidentally, because most of the people who go on the dance holidays I go on to Cuba are from Scotland and the organising company is based in Edinburgh, the local dancers and families we stay with tend to assume that everybody on these trips is from Escossia and it is the English who have to put them straight!

Try buying a phrase book or go onto a translation website. Failing that walk around with a sheep under your arm, - that should do the trick!!
By the way that was a joke!!!!!!!
