Trip report 23rd July to 7th August.
Arrived at Belfast Airport for flight with British Midland at 15.45 for flight at 17.50 checked in and seats 34 a and b were given out to us,
Your also given a document from the Turkish goverment to fill out which must be handed to the staff onboard, Seats were situated on the very
last row of the Aeroplane on the left hand side as you go in at the rear, Airbus 320 had plenty of legroom onboard, Departed on time Meals were
included in Price of £221 per person for our 2 weeks, Meal was Chicken Potato and veg Cheese crackers and a shortbread biscuit tea or coffee
which was pretty good for an onboard meal this was served after 1 hour of the flight, When tea and coffee started being served severe
turbulance started onboard so you ended up with half a cup of whatever you chose spilt on you, lol, severe turbulance lasted for more than 2
hours so the sick bags were out and about all over lol, Not for me however, No onboard entertainment so if flying with British midland take a
book or an Ipod/mp3 player etc.
Just before arrival staff collect all the Documents from passengers and these are counted, Arrived bang on time at 00.10 at Dalaman and joined
the queue for Visa control which was situated passed the Passport control queue was very large as 3 flights had landed within the space of 5
minutes, Then the short walk to Passport control with a camera surveliance for Swine flu situated in the middle no worrys with this as their
was only the one person looking at it on a monitor on a table whom was sitting on a chair. Passed through Passport control and then to the
Baggage carousel where the baggage had just started to arrive as we went down the escalator, Picked up baggage and went into Duty free and
obtained the usual goodies. Next stop was to find the bus outside for our Transfer, Departed for Icmeler at 01.10 for the 97 klm journey which
included a stop at a new nice roadside cafe/restauraunt place which all the tour operators use now.
Arrived in Icmeler at 03.10 and checked into Diva hotel was given our keys and shown to our room on first floor 103 unpacked suitcases and went
to bed, Woke up at 10.05 and missed Breakfast as this was served between 8 and 10am.
Our first port of call was the Garden Restauraunt situated in the old village to collect all our travel accesiories as we leave them at
the bar every time we visit. 12 Efes later I fall asleep at the table very usual to do this on the first day lol, Woke up and had a meal at 22.00
then left in a taxi to take us back to the Diva hotel, A price for a taxi to Antalya was negotiated with the Driver for Monday 27th July as we
had an appointment at the British consular, I was going to drive but was told that the normal road was closed due to resurfacing as the tar
was melting, Which ment that it would take double the time it would normally take as you had to use the coastal route through the mountains.
We also went past fethiye with our taxi to Antalya and I was shocked as to how big this resort actually is it dwarfs Marmaris in a comparison
Marmaris looks like the size of Icmeler as to the size of Fethiye, We left Icmeler at 6am for the 390 klm journey to Antalya and arrived at
11am at the British consular's office after leaving we then had to go to the Govenors office which was actually closed for lunch between
12pm and 1pm, After the Govenors office we headed back for Icmeler and stopping at Fethiye for Turkish tea biscuits and cake at our Taxi
drivers
holiday home, We arrived back in Icmeler at 18.45 went back to the hotel and showered and went out for a meal.
Restauraunts we had meals in were, Moonlight, Charlys, Mr Chef, Buffalo bar, Tin tin bar, Richards place, Red lion bar, Mr yes twice, Garden
restauraunt twice, Kontes beach, Andy's in Marmaris once again was the best place we had a meal yes it's more expensive but for 25 Lira for
the T-bone I had And 20 Lira for the swordfish my other half had I would pay double the price for what I had. A picture of my meal can be found
below.

Temperatures peaked at the highest 53 during the day and the lowest in darkness was 31
Departed from Dalaman on time and arrived on time in Belfast also.
All in all a very good 2 weeks in Icmeler once again, I cant wait to return in
October for another 2 weeks.
Good report, RWB46! I enjoyed my first time in Icmeler and am also looking to go back for a week, last week of October.
the steak looks lovely, where is Andys in Marmaris
Andys Restauraunt in on the main road in Marmaris, If you know where the second Mcdonalds is on the main road coming from Icmeler you will be able to find Andy's as it's around 5 premises closer to Icmeler from Mcdonalds on the same side.
so if you go past the first one next to migros to the next one it is near there?, there is also another mcdonalds near the bizarre now, they seem to be springing up
No, Their are 3 Mcdonalds in Marmaris, One as you said at the Migros complex, The other one again as you said near the Bizarre opposite the Dolmus bus station, It's the one in the middle you have to find, This one you have to walk up steps to go to and you dont really notice it from the Dolmus, If the dolmus was to leave the terminus in Marmaris it would then turn right at the roundabout, Then it would go straight up that long street to the top where longbeach starts then round a corner where the dual carriageway starts, Mcdonalds is on the same side of the street as if you were going to Icmeler via the Dolmus less than quarter of a mile.
thats what i said, if you go past the one near migros onto the next one, then there is a third by the bazzare
