Have you thought about Granada? I'm not sure where in the UK you are but there are direct flights from Gatwick, Stanstead and Liverpool but it's reasonably easy to get to from Malaga airport. It's lovely city, plenty of places to eat and drink, lively night life if that is what you're looking for and the Alhambra is amazing - I could go on and on - but it's main attraction as a city break destination is that the city centre is compact enough to mean that everything is within walking distance and the fact that there are few international flights which fly direct into the local airport means that it hasn't been discovered by the stag and hen night crowds. there's been a number of threads in the Cost del Sol forum on city breaks to Granada and I would suggest that you have a look.

PS If the party includes any shoeaholics they'll be in 7th heaven! Wonderful shoe shops and some of the most helpful assistants I've ever come across. I was desperate to buy a particular pair of shoes and the woman in front of me bought the last pair in my size but the following morning when I passed by the same shop one of the assistants popped out and told me that they'd located my size at their other branch and if I didn't mind waiting she'd walk there and get them for me! Did I mind? of course not - it gave me the opportunity to try on a few more pairs while I did!

I suggest you look up to the top of this forum and click on the Valencia thread. Still a traditional Spanish city which isn't yet touristy like Barcelona(and the Sunday times last week said exactly the same thing!).

Alternatively how about one of the Baltic States - Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia. A colleague's brother in law has just returned from Vilnius (yes it was -17 in Feb!), but he is already looking at going back in the summer.

By the sounds of it, Budapest would suit you down to the ground.
