Congratulations! (Again, I just noticed you slipped the news on the sun tan thread ;))

I'd take a bit more care over food than normal, things like soft cheeses can be in dishes without you realising. Other than that I'll let someone more knowledgeable help out, my youngest baby is 12 now!

Just relax & take it easy - enjoy the rest!!!!

Congrats to you both. I would certainly take any notes your doctor or midwife give you, so you have them with you whilst over there. Not that you need them, just incase you may feel poorly, as alot of women do early on in pregancy, keep us updated on your forth coming arrival and just relax and enjoy. x

Congratulations :cheers

I think AuntiPink is right, watch out for soft cheese dishes and also prawns. My sister has a gorgeous 2.5 month old, and she avoided prawns throughout the early stages of her pregnancy - there's something natural in them that doesn't mix well with pregnancy I think. And no carrying the bags or suitcases - far too heavy! ;)

Other than that, relax, put your feet up and let the other half wait on you hand and foot. Remember: You need energy for two now, so he needs to do the hard work!! :D

CONGRATULATIONS Pink- Kisses! :tup
I am absolutely thrilled for you! :hyper

As others have said - no soft cheeses.
No pate- so no stuffed mushrooms etc :no
And make sure everything you eat in cooked right through.

As others have said, no carrying ANYTHING.
Never mind not carrying anything heavy - don't carry ANYTHING!

Relax and be waited on for a change.

Ooooh fab news....love it! :D

Congratulations Pink -kisses....brill news :yipee

When I flew at 12 weeks pregnant to zante, I was advised to wear flight sock/stockings during the flight, to avoid swelling in the ankles and feet. I also did the feet exercises as well as walking up and down the aisle.

Also if you happen to get queasy during the hol like i did, try flat coke to get rid of it. it really does work.

Congratulations on your news.

Just a little warning to watch the sun, I found to my cost that my skin was a lot more sensitive to the sun when I was pregnant and I burned much more easily than normal so I'd advise caution in case it happens to you.

Have a great time and accept graciously any pampering that comes your way!

ahhh congratulations to you both....its great news. definately listen to all the advise given about foods and the sun, also be careful with the water,if i were you i would make sure you ask for any drinks without ice cubes...i got a nasty tummy bug (although i wasnt pregnant at the time) because of ice cubes....its just about being careful really. go and have a fab time, plenty of relaxation and quiet (youll not get much in 6 months time!!!!!)...there's nothing better in the whole world than being a mummy, its great!! :gluck

I actually found out I was pregnant one year on holiday.
We was in Fuerteventura with the Kids and the second week I was really ill all the time throwing up and just feeling awful. Ruined the second week of our holiday as I didnt want to do anything as I was so sick. Couldnt eat anything. Had to send him out with the kids for their tea etc , I stayed in alone.
Anyway I have a lovely son now so it was worth it. :)
Congratulations!

Hi, Congratulations! Agree with Jan400 about your skin being more sensitive to the sun. I went to Cyprus when I was around 10 wks pg with my son and found my skin (especially face) to be really sensitive. I also felt the heat a lot more than usual and spent quite a lot of time in the shade (asleep!!). Also another food to watch out for at home and abroad is anything containing uncooked egg, such as fresh mayo or coleslaw...you're ok if it's from a jar as it's pastuerised but if it's made fresh then it's best to avoid it. Still had a lovely relaxing holiday though depite having to watch what I ate and drank and I'm sure you will too...have a fab time and as others have said, make sure your other half waits on you hand and foot :tup

Congratulations pink-kissess.

I don't think anyone has mentioned insurance yet. Presumably you weren't pregnant at the time of booking your holiday and arranging travel insurance, and so your insurer would not be aware of your good news. There may be an onus on you to notify them of the pregnancy, so it would be worth giving them a call.
