Hi Spike, thanks for your reply, still checking out a few alternatives but if they don't pan out then it may well be that I will book with Monarch (assuming I haven't missed the boat - or the plane in this case) Just fancied a change from the charter flight norm and hoped to save some dosh too but if it don't happen then it don't happen. I will get there one way or another - it's a bit of a last minute decision really as I really didn't think I would be going at all this season, however I was sitting here a couple of days back and thought "to hell with it", lets just see what is out there and get something booked up (as cheap as possible though) All the best - Fizz
Just to add, if I get there then I will make a couple of meets too.
we were on a thomas cook flight and got only 15kg then we were changed to a monarch flight and still only get 15kg,admitedly we booked in january and didn,t have to pay extra for the hold luggage not like those who booked after march never mind 1st time to goa and can,t wait
Surely you are now under the T&C's of Monarch who allow 20kg's - you need to argue with with thomas cook on this one 1st, and get them to tackle Monarch over it.
Fizz

Fizz
We were flying(package) with Thomas Cook and got changed to Monarch and also wondered about the different baggage allowance.
Will try and get in touch with Travel agent today for information.Hopefully it will be 20kg
Will be great if Celcat is on the same flight as well
I'm looking at going with Kingfisher as flying into Delhi and touring around for 8 days.....just trying to sort it all out and it's giving me headache!
hi millie meg doing flight only,we were with thomas cook but been changed to monarch
Well, my quandary is sorted - definitely all booked and e.Ticket arrived today after chasing it up. (think they forgot to press the send button the other day). So "Goa here I come" Fizz
Only just catching up with threads after holidaying so I realise this post will be useless but, hey ho, it may help someone else! We went in Dec 08 and paid £435 for flights for 2 weeks which we thought was reasonable but then , idly looking in Feb 2009 on Charter flight centre I came across flights for 2 weeks end of Feb beg March for £250 each inclusive of 20kgs and meals on plane!! How good is that! Could we refuse - of course not. Travelled from Gatwick with Thomas Cook airlines no problems. Have decided to apply for visas towards end of oct then just keep watching the flights. They will be valid until April so plenty of opportunity! Happy hunting everyone.
Thank goodness for that fizzy all come right in the end...Cya at the meets.
we were flying with thomas cook but were changed to monarch,i was having a look at the monarch flights yesterday and our flight number is not flying at the time it says on our confirmation, contacted agent and they say we are flying at the time stated on our confirmation,,so,hey ho we might not get there
Looking forward to seeing you sleeps
