Just to let you know that i'm in salou now and the weather is amazing. There's a great atmosphere around the resort because of the world cup and the Hotel Calypso is great.
I'll be back on when i get a chance to leave the sun and the beer so if you have any questions just post them and I'll answer them asap.

hey jodie, im going in 2 weeks too! where are you going to be staying? have you been to salou before?
Nice one we're going end of july to the med village in cap salou for a couple of weeks with the kids and me and mrs neesy are going to the calypso on the first of october for a few days We went last year for 3 days last october and would really recommend it for a wee break especially booking it diy Cant wait

We're stopping in Negresco Princess in Cap Salou, just outside. I've never been before but can't wait. I've heard great things about it. Just been talking to someone else on here about it and they have spoken to a girl who has just been and there seems to be plenty to do. Have you been before? Where are you stopping?

hey, we're staying at the International II for 2 weeks.havent been there before but there does look like theres loads to do and everyone who's been usually goes back the following year so it must be good! cant believe 2 weeks today i'll be sitting in the airport right now ready to go! 
Great News! We fly out next week and are stayng at the Calyspo Hotel. Any reccommendations where to watch the footie? Would like somewhere with a great atmosphere!
I came back on Sunday, and the Fox and Hounds is a brilliant pub with no loud music and plenty of tvs for footie fans, and the food is fabby and drinks are reasonable with very friendly effecient staff.

Turn right out of hotel along the road to you see shops, and turn right down that street

Turn left out of hotel (along Carrer de Pompeu Fabra) until you see a wooden roof thing street with shops on the left (Past Golden port and golden avenida and Sol piramide) called Carrer de Zaragoza! when you get to end turn left to all shops - you will see a few bars that will show the footy!

Lucas9 is right about the pubs. Any where on the main strip offers plenty of tvs and a great atmosphere. We're staying in the hotel to watch tonights game (there's a huge screen that covers a full wall in the bar
) then we're gonna go and soak up the winning atmosphere 
on the strip. Can't wait!!!!

Just back from Salou and nearly every pub has the world cup on - you can even stand outside and watch it - and for those that dont want to watch football there are some British pubs with Big Brother on every night
Phew! I was hoping the pubs would be showing Big Brother as well, thats made my night!

I've still got 10 days till I get there and my friends go in 3 days. Can't wait to get back out there.
HI... thought that being out there one of you could give us the latest on the pub rules and how they are affecting families . There were changes regarding smoking in the pubs ect... Pubs it seems could opt to be smoking pubs but it meant that children werent allowed in...Any one got info on which way the pubs have chosen to go SMOKING OR FAMILIES..

Any pub we went into had people smoking and there were children allowed in as well. We mainly went to pubs near our hotel - Salou Princess so that was the karaoke bar across the road and the Grapevine (British Pub) we did go to other pubs on the way to the beach for lunch and people were smoking in there also. Think the only place you couldnt smoke was McDonalds
hey claire .... the inter II is very basic apartments but the entertainment and the toasties are brill! lol, you'll love it and as for pubs try at the top of the hill the mad scotsman! good atmosphere in there
hi we found that at buddies you were allowed to smoke and kids were allowed. is the calypso as good as i here it is?
