well you can guess by the lack of response that its a difficult one. You say you are doing DIY India- what are you looking at doing there? Perhaps you could just get quotes for flights. ie India with a stopover in the Maldives?

Fiona, thanks for your reply, I was looking into doing a 6 day trip in India, taking in "the usual suspects", pretty much as your recent trip, Delhi, Taj Mahal, Red Fort. I was then hoping to add a week in the Maldives at the end for diving. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible to visiti the Maldives without booking via a tour operator.

try the likes of Expedia as well. As you know from my report- our tour was really cheap within India, far cheaper than we saw in TOs, so if you can get a good price for flights only I'd go for it
