I am currently trying to DIY a holiday for the first time, infact only been abroad once before, we are a stepfamily, so there will be 2 adults and 6 kids ranging from 15 to 4, i have found some decent flight prices, but they are for slightly later than i wanted, 18th sept-2nd oct for just under a thousand, which i suppose is brill for 8 of us.
So i managed to find an appropriate sized house, luckily cheaper as end sept for approx £500 for 2 weeks, its in a place called Saltillo Alto Benalmadena, so the questions are, will this place be suitable for kids, will the weather still be nice, last hol in fuerta we had worst weather in 4 years, so need some sunshine LOL, also its 600mtr to beach, not good with metres, how long is this for an average person to walk with kids, supermarkets are they average prices, or expensive, sorry for all questions, but with 6 kids i will need to have enough money for basics as well as trips ect for them.

belamadena,is certainly suitable for kids,but i think the area you are asking about,is up by the train station.
if it is, then i would not recommend it,as it is a fair way from the beach & it is up a hill.coming down,would be ok,but going back,would be a nightmare,with the kids.
also if you are on the beach,then it's not easy to just,pop back for something.
i would try getting,nearer the beach.
600 metres,may not sound far,but 600 metres up hill,certainly is!

Huge Supermarket right beside Saltillo Alto and a smaller one too. It is 10 -15 min walk downhill to beach, but will take longer on way back up, although you can always stop for a drink en route! Stayed there for years in a time share with young kids, no problem. 15 year old maybe bored though. 15 minute walk into Arroyo De La Miel with fab restaurants and plenty shops. Saltillo Alto is just 5 mins walk from El Pinillo train station with trains run up and down the Costa.

hi there lived in benalmadena for ages and the cheapest flights are with a flight company called servitour the website is INVALID URL them fro a price if you ring them ask for kim,shes great and will help you all she can,
secondly yes its still hot out there until at least the second week in october,
and thirdly yes it is up by the train station and i would have said that its longer than 600meters,but walking back up is a hike as its a very steep hill

saltillo alto

spent last 15years at saltillo alto, loved it that much we bought a studio,next door the dia supermarket is cheap,yes it is 20mins walk to the beach,20mins to the theme park and cable cars,you can get the train to and from the airport,cost aprox £1.30 each,but if first time might be best to get a taxi aprox £23 per taxi ,water park 15 mins away by taxi.saltillo alto has 2 pools together, pool bar english run, :sun2
