Hi
Our friend is insulin dependant and we just wondered what happens when checking in and going through security point as he will have his insulin for the flight and obviously the needles to administer it.
Would he be ok taking a repeat slip from his doctors to prove he is supposed to be taking it (he is reluctant to pay the doctors £50 for a letter)
Thanks
TC
I would think the repeat prescription would be OK, but it may be best to check with the airline concerned.
Thanks for the prompt reply,
It is also useful to have a letter from your doctor, stating you have diabetes and need the equipment
I think I'd pay up to get the doc's letter, because you don't want any unnecessary stress on landing in the USA (because although it's a westward journey, you'll still have been up for some time and will have an adrenaline rush on arrival!). At least if you have all the info (and a bit more) you will be well covered in any situation.
I'd definitely get a letter from the doc - how much is £50 compared to what you have paid for the holiday, go for peace of mind!!
My letter from my GP cost nothing. £50 seems incredible.
