Just something I'm keeping an eye on. We booked online with Olympic a couple of weeks ago, adding the extra 5kg baggage allowance - well worth it for £4 each. Out of curiousity I had a look at the website again to see if I should have waited a bit longer re. price - fortunately little difference, but one thing struck me. The option of adding the extra 5kg is no longer available - also, neither is the opt in/out of in-flight meal.
I've called Olympic and they say it will all be fine. Our confirmation slip also states extra 5kg has been booked.
Even so I'll be keeping an eye out for the details on the tickets when they arrive. Flying with Monarch by the way.
Just don't want to start the holiday off with an argument with the check in desk about how much luggage we can take on.

Olympic and monarch have had a bit of a falling out , and I believe that they are not using their flights at all anymore . Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I suspect that you will have a change of flight in the future , when are you travelling ?
Travelling 7 weeks on Sunday - 1st May.
Change of flight times would be acceptable, but not change of airports - Don't fancy Pafos to Larnaka on a coach after 5 hours in the air! Will keep all of you updated on any developments.
Richie
Yes , if you put Travel weekly into google search , then search for stories on Olympic holidays , it will bring up an article on Monarch withdrawing their flights , its dated 10th February .
We take screen prints and emails etc just in case !
Thanks Kerry - I had a look at lunchtime - all quite interesting. Steve - fortunately we have the document confirming the order from Olympic which states that the extra 5kg has been paid for. Watch this space I suppose.
Looks like we could potentially have our holiday reduced by up to 12 hours each way, plus have to land at Pafos without any redress.
May start scouring Thomas Cook at this rate!
a) Increased the on-line price of the holiday by over £500 (glad we're already booked!), and
b) Re-introduced the 5kg baggage allowance "box".
Does this suggest they've kissed and made up with Monarch, but at a price?
And yet another development! Prices have plummetted, so much so I've actually already booked our October trip. Don't know if its a glitch or what, but now could be the time to book.
Just checked availability with them today and they seem to be using Jet 2 for some of their packages with flights to Paphos !
My sister in law is staying in Limassol and flying to Paphos anyway, but even holidays to Ayia Napa are still going into Paphos!
Is there any reason for this? We're just glad to be going into Larnaca so we check out the new terminal building!
Ref. Olympic Holidays: We were all set to book for Pernera as usual, late July - early August. The deal was there online on the Sunday mid January - I procrastinated and went online ready to book on the Monday. It had gone. I'm talking about Humberside > Larnaca. Looking about on the Olympic site all I could get was Newcastle into Pafos for Livas in Pernera - and at approx. £600 more than was originally advertised from Humberside > Larnaca > Livas. Looking futher around it was very difficult to find any northern airport flying into Larnaca. So something very strange has happened between Olympic Holidays and whoever was supposed to be the airline flying into Larnaca. I suspect that most previous flights were via. Eurocypria (there were 2 flights last summer out of HUY to LCA, Eurocypria and Thomas Cook) - this year there are none. I've sinced booked independently via Jet 2 ('low cost'.... HA!) Even stranger is that you can fly out to LCA only upto 7th July from Humberside - but not after. Now how bizare is that.....? If anyone can shed any light as to what has gone on then I'd be very interested. I'm a bit surprised that no one has mentioned anything before this point - it seems to me that tourist numbers to eastern Cyprus may well be down this year due to nothing more sinister than a complete lack of flights......
At the moment Olympic are still flying Birmingham to Larnaca (although Paphos flights are offered too), but I hadn't thought to look what was happening at other airports.
Just looked at their site for October. They show Jet2/EasyJet/Thomson and Monarch into Pahos. Extra 7kg luggage is £3.99 (22kg)
