hi thanks feggy and mark

we go to salou 24th august there is going to be 13 of us all together one 2 year old , one 12 year old , two 14 year olds boys
,and the other 9 are all adults aged between 18 and 58 so its a right mixed bunch this hol needs to cater for lol , we got lots planned for the kids portadventura /water parks and they are more than happy to spend days at the beach or in pool at hotel and the boys want to go to barcelona to the nou camp so they are sorted but would just like to find out how far we are from the main part of salou and if there is many bars places to eat etc around our apartments also my mum has quite poor mobility she is taking her mobility scooter with her but she just concered about getting around someone told her salou is very hilly and got high pavements ( thats the main reason for checking out whats close to our apartments ) would also like to know how far we are from a supermarket
but most importantly for the 5 men what is the name of the local beer and how much is a pint lol (they are all liverpool supporters so they already worked out they will be having a few beers in shanklys ) but any info on nice kid friendly places to eat would be great also do you know if the hannah montana act is still going around salou thanks

also just been on the hotel reviews and i think sharon has wrote a review sounds like she had a great time cant wait now 6 weeks and counting :) :) :)

cant remember much about the town but yes the kerbs are quite high but there are crossing points at or near most junctions, yes Salou is not perfectly flat but most of the roads/paths can be negotiated with a mobility scooter [you will need to make arrangements with the hotel to charge it up]

i will let others who have been recently answer other questions

thanks wizard have just emailed the hotel to check if there is somewhere safe to leave the scooter at night (because we have found on other holidays that the lifts are not normally big enough for her to take it up to the apartment )the battery is removeable so she can just charge it in her room whenever needed have also asked the hotel to confrim there is ramps etc so she can get in and out of hotel with it so hopefully will hear back from them shortly

Sorry to those that have been waiting for me to post back but have had other problems to to deal with and not just what mark757 has said . Just found out on my 1st day back at work on thur that i may be out of a job in 3wks so please forgive if i have not been on. But yes i have left a post on the reviews about the hotel so i hope i have set some of your minds at rest about the hotel . And yes there is a ramp leading up to the hotel as well as 2 sets of staires so there should be no problem for your mother not sure if the lift would be big enough for a scooter and the lift is slow so you will have to waite for the lift to come up or down. The entertainment is good for kids of all ages Tim and Amy are brill. My kids did not want to leave the hotel so did not get and about to see what else was outside the hotel as they loved it so much .
If i still have a job then i would go back to this hotel next year and every other year as we all enjoyed our our stay here.

thanks sharon am glad to hear you had a great holiday and got my fingers crosssed for you about your job :) :)

just got a couple of questions about the apartments 1 did you get your 100 pound room deposit back ok (we got 4 rooms so thats a lot of money to worry about ) 2 did your room have a kettle or toaster in them (not bothered if they havent will just buy cheap ones from asda to take with me but would just like to be prepared ) 3 did you go to port adventura and if so how did you get there from the hotel , thanks

have had an e mail back from the hotel saying not to worry they will find somewhere for my mum to store her scooter at night so she is all happy now just counting down the days till we go

Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed about my job still dont know what is happening yet but back to the hotel.
1) yes you do get your money back after they have checked that nothing is broken or missing if all that is ok you get your money back no problem.
2) yes our room did have a kettle and toaster but that is becouse we booked with thomas cook if you have booked you hotel seperate from your flights then you wont have a kettle or toaster. I found that out from another family at the hotel they booked their whole holiday separate hence the reason they did not have a kettle or toaster.
3) and for portaventura there is a bus down the hill that takes you straight to the park but if your mum is going as well then she wont get the scooter on the bus you might need a taxi we went one day with another family that had been the day before by taxi and the 1st day that family only paid like 7 or 8 euros but the next day we went along with them and becouse there was an extra 3 folk in the same size of taxi they got the day befor we were charge more for the extra 3 folk in it i think it was around 10 or 12 euros so make sure you know how much it is going to cost u befor you get in the taxi as they charge depending on how many is getting in each taxi not like back home where there is only the charge of distance not how many is in the car .
Hope this is of some help to you

Ola Liverbird ! Just back on Wed night .Now, forget all you`ve read on the forums about inter 11 - here`s the truth -- Our `studio` was 1 room ,which had 2 single beds + a sofa bed.Room was cleaned twice a week ,fresh towels offered every 3 days or so ,(+ bog rolls) was basic but CLEAN ! Entertainment every day 11am -4pm + 8pm -12 am. There`s something different every day + yes there is a Hannah Montanah set on 1 day + a High School Musical on another !There`s rules about the pool - no lilos etc,but nobody says anything, so do your own thing. Plenty of sunbeds but it says don`t put your towels out in morn. - DO, everybody else does. When you go out the door, go down + take 1st left - your at the start of the main promenade!Dont try to walk it all-it`s about 5 miles long !There`s a load of s`markets just next door, but use the local TANDY shop (about 6 doors down from the COMEDY GRILL )Footpaths on main streets are ok but the sidestreets are a nightmare-Dont bring the scooter down there.Grub`s good anywhere really + there`s a load of them on your doorstep.Local beer -MAHOU - dishwater !They do Carlsberg,Carling but it`s about e4 a pint.Poolside bar`s expensive too, small glass of coke etc e2 + icelollies e1.50 -e2.00 ! Fags - 200 for e30.00.Food was near to what you pay at home.Hope you have a great hol,we did -ps 30 Degrees everyday (43 a few )but aircon is brill !

thanks very much feggy you have really put my mind at rest and am now really looking forward to the holiday now 2 weeks today cant believe how quick time has went just one more question for you did you pay the room deposit in pounds or euros and did you get it back okay at the end of your hol ?

The safety deposit boxes just off reception, 21 euros per week and 25 euros deposit which you get back no problem .Many others paid in sterling which they got back also.THE RECEPTIONIST WAS BRILLANT ,THEY ALSO CHANGE STERLING AND CHARGE NO COMMISSION.They say no to put towels out as there are plenty of beds ,i would still put towels out as places filled very early from 9 oclock as soon as pool opened.I hope this helps you enjoy holidays as we have . :

Hi Feggy, I'm about the book these apartments tomorrow for the first week in September for my mate and me who are in in our early 20s. Do you think this will suitable for us, we want somewhere lively and close to things but not in the absolute centre. We'd like to be able to sleep! :-)

Also what is the pool scene like? Is there music etc?

How far is it from the main bars etc?

cheers!

If your looking for partying kkllaa, yourin the wrong place ! :whoops

Also i would like to say I'm not looking for a "party" as such. Just apartments which are walking distance to the bars etc and also apartments which have a nice pool and perhaps a bar in the hotel.

Hi KKlala ... as this discussion is about the International II Apartments, perhaps it may be better if you post in a separate topic with your requirements and preferences, so that the Salou experts can come up with some alternative suggestions.

Hi David,

Thanks but I booked it today!

Does anyone know how far it is from the beach? And also how far of a walk is it from the main bars in the town?

Is the pool nice?

Very excited now!
