It used to be cheaper to book from UK at that time of year - not sure if it is now.

However, hotel only accommodation and excursion prices are still generally a bit lower than early and late summer.

Plus, you will have the added benefit of not having to wait too long to get into any of the ancient sites and they will not be so crowded. We always used to go in June and July for that reason alone.

People do stay away at that time of year because of the baking temperatures. Average temperature will be between 102 and 105 Fahrenheit during the daytime. Saturday night, Luxor was showing 33c at midnight - approx 91 Fahrenheit (5c above our Cyprus temperature at that same time).

The A/C is a godsend though and you will find that you're much more careful about sunbathing. You will literally have to throw yourself in the swimming pool every 20 mins or so :cheers
