Hello, cannot comment on clubs, as we had our little one with us, but calangute and baga did seem to be very busy.

Ah thats good. I had a feeling it may pick up in March and Feb. We have friends that tried to get last min deals and ended up paying more than we did. (we booked back in October).

we spoke to a few people in our hotel, and they booked a couple of weeks before departure and paid a lot more than some guests who booked months in advance.

There seems to be a lot more people visiting from outside the UK.
Maybe they are russian and swedish?

Yes...loads more Russians this year. They seem to have taken over Morjim beach...even a Russian Shack there now so we were told.

Our Goan friends and taxi drivers were saying that MUCH fewer English people there this year. The russians obviously have a communication problem with the locals, as they now all speak excellent english...and we were told that the russians aren't as free with their money as the english ;)

The locals know all about the visa problem that we had - and its had a knock on effect with their takings.

I met sweedish people last year they were really friendly. Morjim was dead last year. I liked it like that. This is sad news :(

:) Wicked Chris went to Mandrem for a 'quiet' night in a hut on the beach. Unfortunately....it was carnival time...and I got a text from her saying that there were about 500 europeans and english dancing on the beach! LOL!
