jemandlee,
There are resorts on the Algarve to suit all tastes and budgets. So we can help a little, would you please give some idea of you age bracket and what sort of resort you prefer - lively or more laid-back.
Also, which airport(s) are you restricted to (do you have access to "no-frills" flights?) Dependent on your answer, it may be possible to put together your own holiday and have a non-budget holiday on a budget. There are still cheap flights left for September, but don't hang about for too long.

not restricted with airports, live in Derbyshire, east midlands nearest but have family near london and manchester airports. if it is a cheap enough deal we are happy to go from anywhere!!

Hi,
Will have a scratch around and send a private message.Sounds, from what you say, that Lagos would suit you down to the ground.

Hi,

We went to CPO in Praia d'Oura for our honeymoon. Had an apt facing right onto the beach and a large terrace so was all very relaxing. We had the Strip just a few minutes walk though for a wilder time if we wanted so ideal :P

Wherever you choose do DIY as you will save a fortune. We do all the time and we can save that much it more or less covers a weeks spending money or at least the insurance and car hire.

We spent our honeymoon in Vilamoura, and had a fantastic time. We stayed in the Marinotel and loved it. As Lummie said, go DIY and you will save a fortune. We use http://www.medhotels.com and http://www.alpharooms.com for our hotel accommodation.

Vilamoura is a lovely chic resort, with a beautiful beach and a huge marina. Lots of bars & restaurants. All the hotels in the area that we saw looked to be of a very good standard.

Lagos is also a lovely resort, although we haven't actually stayed there, but we did spend a nice afternoon there, and we hope to holiday there some time soon.

This year we are going to Carvoeiro. Again we spent an afternoon there before, and loved the feel of the place. It's a small fishing village, and is charming. For the size of the resort, it has a huge selection of restaurants. It's a good base for seeing the rest of the Algarve too.

Praia du Luz is a small resort, with a fab beach. I've read some lovely reviews on the area, so it might be an option for you.

The best thing to do is look at the resort report section of this site. It's great for honest reviews, and will help you narrow down your choice.

Enjoy
