Are you lighting the touchpaper and standing back

Can I assume that whoever wrote this was responding to another post ? Perhaps it was a response to someone who portrayed Marmaris as all sweetness and light, which it is not. I agree this post is a bit OTT but sounds to me like the author has had a bad experience.

I have noticed drunks in Marmaris on many visits but also seen them in every other country I have visited. Being there last week I didn't see one but I accept it was quiet due to being end of season.

Scumbags eh ! , well I suppose I must be one as without doubt we will be back next year. For us Marmaris has still got everything we need for a great holiday. There are some bars I wouldn't touch with a bargepole and some restaurants that I wouldn't spend my money in, that said we have our favourate places and tend to stick with them and nearly always find another wee gem on our walks.

There is no doubt Marmaris is not everyones cup of tea and never will be. Many on the forums draw comparisons with Blackpool and Benidorm and yet both these places too have some lovely locations.

In closing one of the main attractions for us is the people and we do not find them two faced (although I'm sure some are). Friends of ours there very kindly gave us our Christmas cards last week because the post is so slow, insincere ? I don't think so.

basically someone is posting on here and another forum. It just annoys me that people rubbish marmaris and the people that visit /live here. It's a carry on from the hassling thread, maybe it should be moved there. I don't usually start arguements but I don't see why posters on others forums should link to here and take liberties!

I don't like Marmaris but quite simply I don't visit it, no need to slander it or it's people

wow can not see why if you dont like your holiday you have to put people down that do like it there
also put the turks down i think the turkish people are lovely so kind and friendly maybe the turkish are two-faced i have never seen this myself but there is two-faced people all over the world as for scumbags i have been to marmaris three times now and i am not a scumbag i have never seen scumbags when i was there i do not drink i do not dress like a trollop i dont know what marmaris this person when to but it is not the marmaris i have been going to i when to magaluf and that is worst than marmaris the only thing i found wrong with marmaris this time is the hassle you get when you walk on the streets as for that i think the turkish people are some of the nicest people i have come across

You don't need to go all the way to Turkey to find people drunk as skunks and 'ladies' dressed like trollops just visit an English town on a Saturday night!!
I don't like Benidorm but I wouldn't dream of insulting fellow Brits that go there.

I actually think Marmaris harbour at night is very classy even though I like Icmeler a lot more.
The majority of Turkish people I have met over the years have been very nice and genuine, but I don't kid myself ,they are in business and have to be polite to survive.
There is good and bad in all countries and Turkey is no exception.

Before we stumbled across Icmeler, we holidayed in Marmaris with two young daughters, and had a wonderful holiday, Marmaris attracts lots of teenagers/young people and unfortunately the odd trollope and divvy, but it also has lots to offer for the older (not too old!) person the lovely Marina, fancy restaurants, etc.. its just pointless judging a place, purely on its worst visitors.

Chelseaboy, just returned from Marmaris.I didn't realise i was a "scumbag" well you live and learn . Just had a lovely weeks holiday was treated with total respect,as usual. I only saw one woman who made me feel totally ashamed to be a Brit who was offensive but it's the same any place you travel.Your post made me smile as i'm sure i can guess the identity of the member who wrote this I get the feeling she doesn't like Marmaris which is fair enough each to their own but to generalise everyone who goes to Marmaris the way she does is offensive.

I was sent a link, but I couldn't get it to work, as I beleive it was something to do with the Turkey Forum on MSN which I don't know how to use.

I think I am probably too old for MSN. it's something my teenagers go on.
