On the transport front there are 'Aegean hydrofoils' operating between the islands/ports Pythagorio - Patmos - Lipsi - Leros(Ag. Marina) - Kalymnos - Kos. Increases your ferry options, running in June, as far as I can tell they still run in October. They are still not listed on GTP.

Thanks Ouzo - I did wonder about the Delfini. The only timetable I could find was on a Kos travel agent's site though. Wonder why GTP aren't listing them?

Going to work in a trip on the Nissos Kalymnos though - just for old times sake!

just returned from Telendos....just great.
about the delfinis.they run from Kos town and not Mastachari.
There is a new fast boat called Kalymnion Star which is expected to make Pothia to Kos in 15 minutes.
The Kalymnion Dolphin is a small but fast boat, not very big and the fare is 3 euros 50 (the same as the big ferry)
I'll be putting together a bit about the region (hopefully before you go) we had a great time, no rain no cloud just wall to wall sun around 30 c.

Had heard about the new fast boat - but as it leaves Mastichari at 7/730 and we don't land until 02.00 and are hoping to get a FEW hours sleep in, we'll go for the 09.00 ro-ro if we go Mastichari-Pothia-Patmos.

May well (depending on flight delays etc) go Kos Town - Patmos, as on Sunday 1st there's ...a "slow" ferry at 06.00 (11 euros for 2), a delfini at 08.00, catamaran at 11.00, delfini at 14.30, catamaran at 17.30 (all 44 euros for 2 ) and a "fast" ferry at 21.15 (30 euros for two)

Now given how flights are and ferries run...it may well be a case of "off plane to port"..!!

Can't wait - love island hopping - it's package tours I find stressful

On Leros I'd recommend a little resort on the east coast - Pandeli - rather than Leros town. Patmos island is definitely the highlight - there I'd base myself on the port and travel out to the beaches/Hora for day trips.

Great islands though . . . relatively little hit by heavy tourism. Xcept Kos.
