We are going in early June. Does anyone know the date of the Dia del Pescaito please? So looking forward to going back to la Carihuela.

It's on Thursday 9th June (as I thought it would be), but the last time I asked in advance for a confirmation date about a fiesta which is subject to date changes, I was given the wrong date by the tourist office, which made me look a bluddy idiot when I told people the wrong date, so finally I got this e-mail this morning.
Buenos idas,
El Día del Pescaito se celebrara el próximo 9 de junio en la zona de La Carihuela.

We head out 29th May for 2 weeks , staying in Mijas pueblo.
We were there same time last year and the first week was so hot,it was more like August.
We were pleased when it cooled down a little the second week.
As long as it's warm and dry I'll be happy. :tup

I dont believe it there is rain back on the forecast for the next two weeks :( how disheartening...we were there in July last year and was too hot for us so hoped end of May / beg June would be just right

Are things that bad in Spain? we normally go to Turkey but prices are going up and up year on year.It seems that the days of cheap holidays abroad have vanished. The only place left would appear to be Bulgaria!

Just back from aforementioned long weekend... Torreblanca, where now billetted, Los Boliches and Fuengi all holding their own.. some quite lively in parts, particularly those places that have priced themselves accordingly.. they could be doing better but full marks for trying... what pained me, on a nostalgic train journey back down to the Arroyo/Gamonal/Bonanza Square part of Benalmadena, where I spent the best part of 20 years happy holidaying from 1988, was to see how the place has gone to hell in a handcart.. empty or shut up bars, restaurants and shops.. I really felt for those trying to battle thru... short of press ganging people in, I really can't figure out an answer to the decline that seems to being felt more in this area than others that are struggling but giving the impression of life going on... the parts of Benalmadena I saw this week were one breath short of the death rattle. So sad to see, remembering the good days...
