There has been a lot of development in the Jandia area a lot of hotels and a new golf course There isnt actually a resort called Jandia ther name refers to the whole of the Southern end of the Island formerly a seperate Island in the distant past. The resort area is just North of the old port of Moro Jable.
It has always been predominantley German and you are more likely to hear German spoken than Spanish we have never had any problems with comunicating and English is understood in particular in the hotels catering for the English tour companies. The prescence of the Germans is usually an indicator of the higher standards of the hotels,
With regards to weather I dont have any stats but I would say the weather tends to be a bit better in the South.
