We are seriously contemplating a long term stay in Gran Canaria in January '08, with 6 weeks minimum probably nearer 10 weeks.
We have absolutely no idea whatsoever what a low season long stay will cost us, and today sees us beginning to collate evidence that will eventually lead to us enjoying a winter stay on the island.
We will naturally be staying self catering, with no desire to be subjected to hotel food for a long stay, having no desire to come back home 2 stone heavier!
So it will be self catering....probably a private hire of an apartment.
We have so much to ask...shopping in supermarkets, what are the prices like for basics? (bread, milk, meat, cheese, fruit etc.)
How much for a couple to eat out with wine on average for a mid priced restaraunt?
How much can we expect to pay for a small apartment rental in January/February/March?
Any help and advise would be very gratefully accepted....
