Take some warm clothes and a coat when you go to Delhi & Agra.
Last January it was cold, they actually had frost in Agra mid January.
So long as you have good guide books you won't need a guide for the Taj.
Enjoy.

Thank you thought it might be chilly but didnt think of a frost. Will do the Taj on our own do not normally have a guide but was recommended one so did think about it. Thanks for the info, where did you eat, in Delhi, we found it difficult to find a place in Mumbai last year and had pitza both evenings. not that exciting but was good food and handy for the hotel.
Thanks again J

We ate in the hotel in Agra and found a Chinese restaurant in Delhi. we also found the choice limited.
The food was OK but did not compare well with Goan food, and it was much more expensive.
