Never believe what you read in newspapers because if there is no news to print then they will make the news up.

We've only ever seen one during our time in Icmeler- think it was about to die and had been carried in by the current.
Did see a couple whilst swimming from a boat in Fethiye Bay, also the local paper reported a 500kg shark being caught in the same bay that day! But dont worry, it was back in June.
only seen one dead one in marmaris............. again newspapers must be short on stories because its all so quiet news wise here.....
I got stung on my first ever holiday abroad in Tunisia, I have never been in the sea since haha. We saw a huge one on Carol's Surf 'n' Turf boat trip in one of the bays, but never seen any in Icmeler or any where else.
About 2 years ago in Marmaris a child on the boat trip we were on was stung but it's the first i've witnessed there.
We have a picture of one from the Surf "N" Turf boat trip
we seen a few too on a lazy days boat trip from marmaris,my daughter got stung by one in greece a few years ago ..left a lovely pattern on her thigh ,the hotel we were staying at had a family member helping out as the mother was ill and family needed to be at her bedside ,,he was a doctor ,he looked at sting and asked what colour the jelly fish was ,luckily it turned out to be a harmless one
I'm just back from penang , malaysia (yeah I know its not Turkey) but if stung out there they say the best thing for it is your own urine- if like me you don't fancy that stick with the vinegar.
just got back, never saw any
Maybe it was the odd one around as I have just been out on a boat from Marmaris and all around the bays to Turunc and back to Icmeler and not spotted any though I was waiting to take a photo if spotted.
I got back from Icmeler this morning and have been snorkelling around the area during the past two weeks. One day last week I did see quite a few jellyfish but they were of a non-stinging species, quite harmless. I've been diving in many areas between Marmaris and Kedirga and have only seen odd ones, nothing major to worry about. As mopitt suggest, vinegar is the best treatment if you do get stung since it neutralises the stinging cells (nematocysts).
Had we known there had been jelly fish in the water we wouldn't have gone in!
It was painful but luckily I had some cream to apply on his arm and the sting disappeared after a few hours.
Lots of people were being stung when we were there.
