as you will read from the 2 reviews,a car is an asset, but we also have a good bus service,
also there is a bus that takes visitors from one attraction to the next.
a day trip to france is a good day away.
also there are day boat trips to guernsey and sark.

I'm looking to visit in May or June and bmibaby are pulling out of Durham Tees Valley so I need to find an alternative.
Thanks ever so much for the info. Do you have any idea of how far the Samares Coast is from the centre of St Helier - ie would it be possible to walk to the main bus station and back every day?
Can anyone reccommend a nice (but cheap) guest house in St Helier. We don't want anything fancy, just clean and welcoming.
We have now decided to fly rather than drive as it's a long journey from where we live (Nottingham). We've also decided to stay in St Helier to get maximum use out of the buses, probably staying at the Pomme d'Or hotel. I have found great reviews for it on trip advisor but was wondering if anyone on here had stayed there before?
Any tips on SC in Jersey e.g. nice place to stay?
I'm thinking about taking a trip (about 5 days) to Jersey and have been looking at the WA / Shearings coach tours. What i'd like to know is, do other coach firms do holidays to Jersey and if so, do they go from West Yorkshire ?
BTW does anyone have any good photos of St Helier or the Mayfair hotel ?

i will have a look around for you tomorrow.
meanwhile here is a link to the mayfair hotel for you..

It was good then, but it is quite a hike from the sea, shops and bus station,. We hiked it easily but we were 20 years younger!
Not sure what you are looking for, but if you want to be near the beach, the Metropole (in the same group) is better, near Havre de Pas beach, and also within reach of the shops and Howard Davis park.
I don't drive, so need transport to get to Jersey and then want the best place to stay. Oh by the way, we (me and my wife) could fly from Doncaster, but the wife wanted to go by coach.
The hotel has a great swimming pool and gym, with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. There are several bars and restaurants in the hotel and internet access is available.
Jersey itself is beautiful. We covered the whole island in our 6 days there, after sailing by catamaran from Weymouth 7am Sunday morning, arriving at 10.30, thereby gaining most of Sunday, as well as the following 5 days. We went to the War Tunnels, the zoo and various other small attractions. We went shopping in St Helier and visited several lovely bays and beaches. The beaches were beautiful and so quiet.
jersey is ideally situated to a short break, but if you stay longer you can have a leisurely time and maybe go to the beach. The highest speed limit on Jersey is 40 miles per hour and the locals are very courteous.
If anybody wants any advice on Jersey or the hotel, please feel free to message me. It seems that Jersey does not rank very high on here as it does not have its own thread!
I am hoping to book a 3/4 night break to Jersey in May or June, but although the flights are reasonable the accomodation is really expensive. Can any one recommend a nice but cheap guest house in St Helier that won't break the bank? I have done DIY hols abroad before and the accomodation there is so much cheaper, but would like to visit Jersey next year if the budget allows. Thanks.
