People I need some advice!!
I have spent the last 6 months trying to book a honeymoon for this July. I have now ruled out the Caribbean and Indian Ocean cause I just don't want to run the risk of tropical rain storms etc
I narrowed it down to Sharm El Sheikh or Marrakech but i really need some suggestions.
My budget is around £2000 for around 10/11 nights.
I had my heart set on Sharm El sheikh and the Hyatt Regency hotel there but had a friend who went there last September and she hated it - said the whole place was just a building site and Naama bay was just tacky and 'English'.
I'm not totally put off as this is the only negative i have heard about Sharm but of course it does leave an element of doubt in my mind.
It certainly seems I can do 5* in either of these locations well within my budget but i guess i'm just looking for some reassurance or some other suggestions.
Thank you in advance
Hyatt Regency in Sharm? Or any of the other 5* establishments in the area. Don't rely on one persons experience. Most places in Egypt get pretty good reviews, and most are within that budget. You should be able to find somewhere to have a great time.
Have you read the HT members' reviews of the i would recommend sharm - everyone has their own opinions of various hotels but i loved it. great weather, beaches, luxury - being pampered and its so affordable! even if you don't want to stay cooped up in the hotel, there are tons of great restaurants and they are v cheap (see the recommendations topic)
If you want to be almost by yourselves in a beautiful, quiet and relaxing environment then try Nuweiba or Taba Heights.
Have you considered the Red Sea Resort of El Gouna, a bit more upmarket than Sharm, with a beautiful marina and some lovely 5 star hotels to choose from. Its a purpose built resort, and you can do as much or as little as you wish here. Have a look at their website INVALID URL to give you a better idea of whats on offer.
Hi we can recomend the Concorde El Salam at Sharm, stayed there last August for 2 weeks , it is stunning with food to die for, all inclusive in July should be about £750 each. Beware though , we were warned !!! the temperature in July/ August is very very hot We had it 50 Deg every day and it only dropped to a cool 35 at night. Go you will love it
if you want any nore info
regards David. ( Derbyshire).
