Hi all, we have just got back from our 3rd trip to Brugge and Flanders in general, as always it is a great place to visit with interesting places and fantastic bars so all in all it was a great 6 days, however there is a major draw back to it, the bars and restaurants in Belgium are infested with smokers, the smoking is so bad in some places that we had to turn around and leave as soon as we entered the premises I don't care where we are but we ain't putting up with peoples disgusting smoke, so it begs this question, in a very orderly and civilised country such as Belgium that sits at the heart of the EU with all there rules regulations and directives, how come the practice of smoking in public places is still allowed ?, Malta, Italy, and Ireland have all banned it and everywhere is much better for it, the smoking was so bad this time around that I will have to consider it if or when we ever return, yes it was so bad it would put us off going, I will be very interested in hearing peoples views and comments and of course any info that anyone might have regarding future changes to this.
