Well we got back on Saturday night after a two week visit to Ibiza, staying in Es Cana.
To be honest, we were not that impress with our accommodation. We found the Mar Y Huerta to be VERY basic and but clean. Our view looked over the car park at the back, on the 1st floor, so we didn't even have much height. The bath didn't drain properly and the toilet smelled but we put that down to Spains poor sewerage system.
All this aside we had an amazing time. Travelled with Thomas Cook who were exceptionally helpful and courteous. Very impressed with them.
Es Cana was a lovely town, some nice restaurants along the front. La Jacaranda was our favourite.
We hired a car for three days both weeks, from Avis. It was excellent, cause we got upgraded from a Corsa to a megane at no extra cost. It was great to get out of Es Cana and see the beautiful countryside of Ibiza. It is a fantastic island and I would recommend trips to Portinatx, Cala D'Hort, San Miguel, San Antonio (for the sunset), Ibiza.... all amazing. From Cala D' Hort you get an exceptional view of Es Vedra which is very dramatic but stunning. The road from San An to Cala D'Hort is slightly dodgy so beware!! But there are some great views on the way.
Weather was fab with two cloudy days, but it was nice to get a break from the sun.
All in all a fabulous time was had. We would love to return, but perhaps to Santa Eularia and to a self catering 3* apartment. That's our plan! :-)
Thanks for reading...

Well done on getting out to see the country side in Ibiza, its something that many forget to do and its well worth it!
What sewarage problem in Spain though? Where ever I have visited from the most basic accommodation through to 4* in Ibiza the toliets have been fine with no smell. Sounds like you should report that problem with the accommodation to your travel agent so that nobody else experiences it.
I don't expect much for a 2* Hotel. So we didn't let it bother us at alll.
Love Ibiza so much.
