We are just back to and could not believe how hot it got this week.

We stayed at the Devamli which was nice left a review.

few new restaurants opened this year
Sweet Brothers at the top of canal turn right, along from Florida only had a drink there so cant comment on food.
The Lemon Tree also at the top of the canal but keep going straight ahead owned by 4 brothers one of who was the front man at Chef last year sorry folks terrible with names. food was lovely though I would recomment a visit.

The locals are very worried this year as it was so quiet and what with the world cup this month they dont think it will pick up then either.

Collette
your Venice was still rocking and the carpet shop!!! across the road from Set Steakhouse is now a bank.

Roll on September

Where is the Baron Bar Barry, is it a new place, I don't remember it from last year, but then again there are so many.

I don't like it when they are OTT and won't take no for an answer, I don't mind a bit of banter, after all it is a short season and they have to make a living interesting that it is a bit quieter this year, I put it down to several things, the bird flue scare earlier this year, personnel debt problems in the UK which is making people pull back, competition from more established resorts and new destinations, it's a great place Turkey I had my best ever holiday there, however last year was a very busy year for Turkey so perhaps it's just getting back to normal?

I agree about the guy on the door at the Baron,he is so rude and aggresive,I wouldn't go in there if it was the only bar in Icmeler.

Robert the Baron is just before the dry canal as you are walking down to the beach on the Tansas road.

cheers perhaps he might learn by the time I get there in August that is not the way to get people in

So THAT man is still there!!!!!!! We went last Sept-Oct and it was our 1st time. If all the Turkish men were like HIM no one would return. When we went a few weeks ago, we found ourselves diverting past the place. Looks like we will be doing the same in Aug. Rude and pushy isn't the word !!

Have to agree with what's been said already, the man at the Barron was rude to us last year when we politely declined his offer to look at the menu. We decided that was one place we definitely wouldn't go to.

On a Good note Icmeler now has its own Patisserie called Yavuz on the same side of road as the Garanti Bank two or three shops down very good cakes in there must give it a visit in september

Sorry H/T but i have been to busy looking at the topics that i have just realised i havent done my report on our hols  So here goes. Arrived at the Blue Rainbow hotel very early hours and were suprised that they had already done meals for those arriving late!!! Thought that was a lovely welcome :D Room wasn't to our liking, so, i went and politly explained this to the night shift. No problem we were given nicer rooms the following morning. Next morning off to book our trips. 1st one was the Lazy day.Would have enjoyed it more if the sea had been warmer but saying that it was HOT HOT HOT and anything would have felt cold. I was so glad i didn't jump in because while we waited for the Barbque, i was looking over board and i saw a very long and slim fish !! :? I asked the Turkish skipper what it was and he said "Careful, Barracudda" :omg I said "well get them out of the water" and he walked off. :shrug Pregnant Church Bay was beautiful and the water was so so clear and inviting but sorry i stayed put on deck. 2nd trip was over to Rhodes on the Catermaran. Fantastic way to travel but Turkey is much nicer :D On the way back i needed a coffee and hubby only had English money so, when it came to paying the guy for our drinks and sweets he couldn't change it and let us off  3rd trip was to Pammukle. On the bus at 6-30 and arrived back at 8pm that night  Would never go again. The little Turkish Village were you are suposed to stay for your lunch is,, yeah you quessed, the :swear carpet factory !!!! Pammukle is then we are told, drying up and you are only allowed to go in certain areas. Well, it cost 18 lira to swim in Cleopatras pool and even though i was melting in 104 degree heat, i wasn't paying that :tut The places we ate at were, Titanic, Eileens,The Mandalin, Old Famous Kitchen (yummy) but the best place was Amalia pub and resturant across from the Blue Rainbow and under the Alinda. What a great bunch of guys thet are. We nick named one Wiggy so please say hi to him if you pop in. Even though the Blue Rainbow was H/B we found eating out was much better due to the food. All in all another fantastic holiday in Icmeler. So Good, we have booked with John and Rami in another 12 weeks. Same place, Icmeler and same hotel. Much cheaper with ICR i must admit. :pele :pele Cant wait. Sorry for the delay in my report H/T but it shows what excitment does to a person. :rofl :rofl Happy hols. Anna xxxx

Hi
I agree with all you about the Guy at the Baron Bar(Dave) he's extremely rude and often aggressive. we were staying at the Palm Gardens and usually had to pass by every day and night. It got to the point were we were trying to hide behind each other just avoid him seeing us and shouting across the road. Zaza the barmen at wonderboys works there this year and kept telling him to stop hassling us and being like a parrot. Zaza was most upset and angry and told him that we would never go in while he was there. It still didn't stop him. :x
This was the only hassle we experienced this year, we've been going so long that people know us and don't bother us at all.

Have just come back from icmeler[16/6] and had no problems what so ever with the staff from barons. We were staying next door but 1 and although we were all inclusive the food became a bit repetitive so had a couple of breakfasts in barons and also an evening meal.Plenty of people in their seemed to be regulars so they cant be all bad.We might just have been lucky but i thought it was only fair to put my experience of them over. :D

I think the reason why so many people use the Baron is that their beer is 60 pence a pint.
Not a bad thing but have to agree the front man is pig ignorant and aggressive.
I would not use the place if the beer was free while he was there.
