The weather link from here says that Benidorm has been foggy for the last week or so up until at least 2nd Aug. How accurate would you say it's been while you were there. What were the temperatures like?

While out one night at "The Cheap and Cheerful" cafe/bar Ricky Tomlinson strolled by and called into the neighbouring cafe/bar.

He and his missus were on the same flight back as us in January this year...i heard he has his own place somewhere on the Costa Blanca.

Weather was fab - roasting hot!!! Lovely little breeze every now and agian to cool you down. When no breeze a cold San Miguel did the trick!!

Just back at 2.30 this mornig had another great holiday in benni will probb write a hotel report tomorrow (DONT WOORY KAZZ ITS OK) as for resort i dont know why people woory so much its still brill and no hassel of anybody

Hi all
Home safe yesterday afternoon great flight with first choice 1/2 hour early .Had another great holiday this year im glad i changed hotel to the ambassador as the people we spoke to at the rosaire were not happy chappys lets say with the hotel.The ambassador like any other 3star hotel had lots of choices at meal times as we got upgraded to full board some days it was just to hot to eat at lunch time i made breakfast once the 14 days i was there as we didnt get in till 5 most mornings up at 10 lol .We had a great time in and out all the cabaret bars saw a few turns my favourite was a guy who did john lennon he was fantastic he was in tommys bar but danny downing ,woody brown etc theyve been there for yrs saw them all before . But theres something for everyone in benidorm our hotel got evacuated on the tues i think the 24th july a bomb hoax everyone put out hotel for about 2 hrs but it was a hoax thank god apart from that and the amount of prostitutes and gypsies in that area who are a nusiance i would still stay at that end of benidorm .In fact we go back to ambassador for new year cant wait might try and get a we week in september hope all had as good a time as my family did ..

we stayed just across from you mazz in rosamar it was brill mind i never swa any prozzies oor gypsies at all mabe we whent home to early at night

Well fatboy you never missed much they are next door to the black chicken a place called annas theyve been there for years as for the gypsies it the same ones thats been picket pocketing for all the years ive been there so a no who to watch out for but didnt stop me from enjoying my holiday . im glad you enjoyed your holiday was looking for your review but i see you say its missing ... maybe it willshow up again take care mazz

Just back from our first holiday to Benidorm - and had the most fantastic time. We stayed at the Terralta Apartments which were first class, and were about a ten minute walk down to the beach (poniente). We were very dubious about Benidorm, not really knowing what to expect, as many many people describe it as 'Blackpool in the Sun'.

Well - I totally disagree with them. Theres something in Benidorm for everyone, and if the Old Town is like Blackpool, then I'm driving there now! Its beautiful, very old and quaint little streets, we visited some lovely bars and restuarants.

We also ventured into the new town, and this wasn't half as bad as we had been led to believe, but we did prefer the old town. Its a lovely walk along the promenade in the evening.

We ate out every evening, and the prices were really reasonable. In a few bars we were only paying 1Euro for a beer.

I am well and truly fed up to be home .

Must say a massive thanks to David, Sanji, Taggy and everyone else on here who gave me heaps of advice and recommendations. I wrote down the names of bars and restuarants which I thought would appeal to us and took them with me and visited them. I would recommend anyone going for the first time to do this, as we met a few people who had had poor meals etc. There are just so many places to eat, its nice to know places that come recommended.

To sum it up, everywhere we went, people (of all nationalities) were having a good time and enjoying themselves.

We will definitely be returning. (I'll leave my recommendations of bars etc on the appropriate thread).

Hiya Elaine...so glad you really enjoyed your first....but obviously not your last...holiday in Benidorm. Yep you are right it does have something for everyone. Looking forward to hearing some of your favs in the bars and restaurants thread. I'm off myself a week on Thurs and am geting itchy feet!
