hi all were shall i start. just spent two weeks in the sun at hotel marhaba in sousse. the wether was fantastic most of the staff were very polite. the hotel was basic (they say you get what you pay for) well the travel company will be getting a letter 1st class because what i paid for the holiday was far more than i got from this hotel. so lets get rid of the negativesarrived at hotel at 11 oclock there was no food for us no money exchange and no drinks so we had to wait till breakfast to get a drink. the hotel is very basic 3* not in my life time more like two. went to the medina never in my life have i met so many people who want to rip you off even in jail there are not that many dishonest people. this is not bad mouthing. i went for many a walk in what i call the back streets (not the tourist trail) and met some loverly tunisians ok they are quite poor and i was often asked for dinars mainly by the kids but they did not try to rob me or intimadate me. but in the madeina we got split up and my partner bought a very cheap( as in cheaply made) camel for our 6yr old daugther she paid 30 dinar £12 he wanted 55 dinar (now i know you will say its her own fault) but on other stalls they were selling the same thing for as little as 5dinars £2 now i say he robed her ok try to get a good price but that takes the p *** then i got a taxi (1st you must know i always tip for good service) but i had to go to the hospital with my son from hotel they told me to get taxi it would cos 1dinar not that far but he knows were to go when we got there he said 5 dinar again only £2 but the fact he tried to rip me off he got 1dinar and no tip. breakfast in hotel was appolling evening meal was quite good. i could go on but to say if we booked this hotel as we now Know and got our own flights we would have paid half the price for the same deal. overall got a good tan met some nice tunisian people but would not go back and would not advice my friends to go. hope you have a better time than we did remember what one person dislike others like
we never actually went to the medina, heard to many stories from people who had been, I personally would go back and stay in the Marhaba complex, I found it the most relaxing holiday I have had in a long time (but maybe coz so much has gone on in my personal life, and I just wanted relaxtion) I think I would also buy cereal next time for breakfast though lol.
