We are off to kashmir next week travelling by train from Goa (where we live) fortunately travelling with Kashmiri friends, anyone any advice? or ideas! I know it is against home office advice but sounds pretty safe now and a lot of tourists are going there agaion
Kashmir was a truly wonderful experience especially staying with kashmiris as family and living the real life, eating on the floor with our fingers, power cuts for hours and sitting with oil lamps outdoor bucket and jug showers, an amazing and life changing experience indeed do try it if you egt the chance

Have they still got houseboats on Lake Dal in Srinagar? They were excellent.
