Hello all
Soon be off on my first Turkish holiday staying at Montana Pine in Hisarouno <sp>
Anyway I am a keen kayaker and would like to visit the sunken city at Kekova, which looks to be about 30miles away as the crow flys.
Can anyone tell me if the journey is feasable for a day trip dolmus? taxi?
or know of a kayak-tour outfit locally?
Thanks.
Chas
You can book the kayaking trip in one of the excursion shops in Hisaronu - or the ones on the seafront down in Oludeniz. Your rep will probably have it on offer too - although booking through them is usually more costly.
By the way, the Montana Pine is a beautiful hotel - the best one in Hisaronu. I don't know one person who hasn't fallen in love with it.

Kekova was about 1 1/2 hours away and that included 45 min journey to Kas where we met up with the rest of the group. The trip was arranged with a Kas Tour group via our rep. Had a great day seeing as it was about 20 years since i was last in a canoe. You get quite close to the sunken city. We had a New Zealander as our guide.
As Kalkan is a good hour away form Hisaronu on the main road it would make for a long day, but worth doing.
When looking at the trips they do in Hisaronu, last there 2 years ago, the only canoe trip they did was a river one from near saklikent through to Patara Beach.
Hope this helps.
offbeatroutes offering lots of activites for the more energetic tourist.
He has been very helpful, but it still sounds a mission to make the journey for the 8.30am start required, hire a car?
Also now looking at River Dalyan for a bit of rafting or ww kayaking instead, still seems to be a 1.5 hour trip from Hisaronu.
Strawberry, Montana Pine has really been 'bigged-up' so we're looking forward to breathing in all that mountain air and taking in the sunsets.

Thanks for the input, I've since contacted a firm co-run by an Irish Guy in Kas; He has been very helpful, but it still sounds a mission to make the journey for the 8.30am start required, hire a car?
