My daughter & I arrived & were given a twin room (as requested )which is definately in need of an update. On checking one of the beds I noticed the sheets used by the previous guest had not been changed. After complaining I was given the choice of a change of sheets or change of room. I asked for change of room and was given another twin room, this one being at the front of the hotel. Big mistake. No sleep due to the noise of traffic and guests smoking at the front of the hotel up to about 3.30am. This room also needs a complete update and a good spring clean. Paintwork around windows filthy, out of date cereals in one of the drawers, grapes & empty biscuit packets in another drawer. Dirty curtains in corridor would probably fall apart if they were put in a washing machine. I had read a review that the hotel was full of contractors. The hotel should have some sort of dress code at meal times which would prevent some contractors appearing for breakfast in disgusting dirty working clothes. They also get priority over breakfast even if you have been sat waiting to be served. Staff are friendly but as they're young girls they only had time to chat up workmen. Our stay was 2 nights, 2 nights too long. Would certainly not recommend this hotel. Some people say you get what you pay for but at £56 per night we had expected some cleanliness and perhaps some acknowledgement that we existed. The hotel web site is VERY MISLEADING
