Kolimbia is now a small resort of package tourist hotels and the usual collection of tavernas (real english breakfasts 5 euros, football bars etc.). A one street resort in this case called Eucalyptus street. There never was a town or village there, just one taverna and a few rooms for rent about 15 years ago. Should be fine for the kids as the beaches are sandy and sheltered, to the south of the headland.

Hi just came back from Kolimbia. The resort is very quiet and is a predominately German and East European. There are a few Brits there, but we are in the minority. Most of the hotels are all inclusive, so there are only a few restaurants and bars outwith the hotels to choose from. Memories bar is well worth a visit however as the staff are entertaining! We stayed in the Marathon Hotel, it was ok and the rooms are spacious and clean however, they don't seem to have a clue about room allocation. We waited over 4 hours to get our room(arrived at 6am, the room was supposed to be ready the night before), there were quite a few others getting messed about and moving rooms three or four times during their stay. On the plus side, the bus service is good with Faliraki, Lindos and Rhodes a short busride away. The beaches are only a few minutes walk awat but the largest is very stoney, but you will have no problems getting a sun bed(3 euro for the day). All-in-all, we had a good time as we wanted a quiet relaxing time. If you want night life and loads of bars, don't go to Kolimbia !
