I was wondering if anyone knows what these apartments are like and where exactly they are situated in Protaras, they havn't been reviewed here at all.
Many thanks
Trish
Konnos Bay Apts are at Cape Greko which is between Ayia Napa and Protaras but closer to Protaras. It is a bit out of the way if you had hoped to walk to Protaras but there is a bus about 30-50 metres from the apts. There is a shop directly opposite and 3 restaurants within rolling distance!
Sorry I don't know anything about the accomodation itself.
Ann
Is the shop opposite a supermarket type place. As the apartments are self catering and they seem a bit of a treck for food etc would the shopt be sufficient for basic items.
Thanks again
Trish
It is quite a good supermarket, has all the usual stuff you would expect but I suppose is a little priceier than supermarkets that are more central - audience is captive!!
Ann
Thanks Ann for your speedy reply - very greatful.
If you fancy a shopping trip the same bus geos through Protaras to Paralimni where there is a better selection of shops an a BIG hypermarket
Thanks Brian - Would it be obvious which bus stop to get off at? And more to the point which bus?
the drivers are usualy verry helpfull and if you explain where you want to go they will tell you where to get off (usualy politly)
a taxi will cost around 6cyp each way
hope this helps
brian
sorry did't realise you were so far out get the bus on the oposite side of the road to the sea to go to Paralimni or the same side as the sea to go to Agia Nappa
Thanks Brian for your help
We stayed at these apartments in October 2002 and loved them. They are simple, but very clean (maid service nearly every day) and we had a nice sea view. The rooms had a large fridge and a basic hob for cooking. The pool is ok and there are lovely views from the restaurant. The beach at Konnos Bay is great for kids as it shelves really gently into the sea, and is very sandy.
We loved the area so much that we are going back in July this year to get married (staying at the Grecian Park hotel, which is next door to the Konnos Bay apartments).
It would be advisable to hire a car to travel around, as they are a bit out of the way. But there are a few restaurants within walking distance, and dinner at the apartments was very nice and reasonably priced.
Hope this helps

Hi Has any one stayed at the Konnos Bay Hotel and apartments near Protaras? We have booked to go there in the half term week in October.
hi, never stayed but had a look at them in august, preety isolated between ayia napa and protares. but noticed bus stops right outside in both directions, apts are on both sides of old road to protares so not that much traffic, you would be better asking to stay in the seaward side main building as the views of konnos bay are very impressive, comlex looked clean and tidy and not crowded considering august time, i would like to stay in future and travel into resorts from there , i think olympic usually offer some late deals here. weather in october when i visited was nice in high seventies
we were at konnos bay hotel/apartments ,last year i agree that you should ask for a seaward side of the hotel as the view of the bay is spectacular. also try the Spartacus's restaurant the food is tremendous !! and the Italian restaurant is also first class what made the holiday for us was walking down to the bay each day the water is warm and crystal clear! if you have a dodgy back dont hire out the yellow coloured scoop type beds they kill you also the bus fare to protaras is 50p and if you are at the bus stop, taxis stop and invite you to share a cab with somebody else at the bus stop!! anyway i have babbled on enough , have a ball l scots peter
i have stayed at the konnos bay it is a lovely place and there is a brilliant beech at the bottom of the hill bit of a treck but worth it temp still in 70-80s can be hotter i went first 2 weeks in oct still liveley in protaras but some things are winding down for the winter. there is a nice little resturant in protaras called island affair superb food or if you tastes are exotic try perla blue where you can have crocodile or kangaroo
i went to cyprus last year and stayed in the appartments above im just wondering if anybody else has and what they thought of it.
I thought it was to far away from everything and we had to hire a car to get places even though it was to warm to be stuck in a car.
Why don't you post a review here
It is perhaps a shame that Konnos Bay area is sold by the TO's as Protaras. It would be more accurate to describe it as where it is. Its actually much closer to Cape Greco (or Cavo Greko) - but hey, Konnos has a cracking beach
That said, they sell both Pernera and Kapparis as Protaras too

it is a bit far out especially if you like a bit of night life but that beach is to die for. My favourite place
I cant believe they are promoting it as Protaras as you need a taxi to get there.
I dont know if there is a resort of Cape Greko, if so that is it, otherwise it's somewhere between Protaras and Agia Napa but not actually part of either I would have said.
We are booked for these apartments 5th August. We have never been to Cyprus before so any advice at all would be greatly appreciated. Don't expect to stay at hotel in the day and want to go to different places during the day...Is the hotel a long way out from any kind of 'life'? Does anyone know how long it would take to walk to Nissi Bay from here?
